No fair keeping the fun in your group ;-)
We wanna hear how the Sandy Hook Doodle Romp went...complete with pictures =)
Since I don't have a beach here and I probably won't see a romp till Spring, I need to hear all about it!!!
I bet we had about 50 doodles there. The day started out foggy but cleared up beautifully. It was a glorious, picture perfect NJ fall day on Sandy Hook.
I drove in with "6" dogs and 3 humans. What a ride! My camera was destroyed on the way in and I wasn't able to get any pics, so I am glad to see others.
I had 2 of our puppies with me for potential adopters to meet with. One was adopted right there on the beach.
Adrianne also brought her foster pup and he was adopted, too. So, it was a success for us.
I was so glad to meet everyone. Thank You for the great day.
I vote it becomes an annual thing since this is the second year we did this the first weekend in October.
I second that vote! Lots of fun. And we met one of Ziggy's sibs. While the pups played, lots of visiting and doodle networking. More pics are posted on the Sandy Hook romp thread. Thanks all! Lisa, Rich, Ziggy and Marley
OMGoodness, Lucy and I want to come next time. First weekend in Oct. would be wonderful. We could take a week long vaca at that time next year in the motorhome and come to the romp. How great is that. I am marking my calendar now. Love the pics. And ADOPTIONS right there, how great. Come on Joanne, lets take Spud and Lucy next year to the Jersey shore !!!!!
After Labor Day is a great time to come to the Jersey Shore. All the summer crowds are gone AND dogs are allowed on the beach. We have some great Bed & Breakfasts, too. You know, we don't ALL live like The Soprano's, here in Joisey.
DEAL. And, I will adopt doodles off the beach. We can fill the motor home with DOODS and bring them back with us! :)
We will bring an intimidating Soprano looking guy and get doodles.........
Look out Joisey, here we come!
I vote for all those within 10 hour drive be here!! Will anyone second that??????
No excuses - if I can do an 8 hour drive to go to East Japip, Pennsylvania, (aka Edinboro) for a romp, you can do it too!!!!
First Week in October Beach Romp - be there or be square LOL!!!
Wow those photos are so great! I took all of mine early when it was still foggy - they came out pretty crappy. I still can't believe how many doodles were there! It was great to see everyone.
Here are my pictures. Just check out the first 3 - that is the scene we saw walking towards the water. I have no idea how many were there already but it was incredible sight! I didn't think there would be so many Doodles! The day was exquisite, not a cloud in the sky after the fog burned off and it was over 70 degrees.
There were so many people that I know that I didn't get a chance to see and so many I never met that I finally did yesterday! I must apologize to those that I abruptly ran away from to get Charli out of trouble or just to find her. She is a social butterfly and didn't sit still unless it was to 'sit nicely' (aka begging) for a cookie.
Next year we have to have some kind of ID system. I know so many Doodles by face and name but not necessarily their Human's names.
My pictures are mostly of Charli - I just wanted to get 1 or 2 cute photos of her since it is nearly impossible to get one of a black doodle. Well, I got tons of cute ones of a soaking wet, sandy, begging, bait stealing, cute black doodle.
Samantha had the time of her life - actually swam, not just walking in the water, to get a ball! That is something new for her.
I hope that the weather next year is just as nice. If anyone wants to meet at the beach again a bunch of us meet at Ocean Grove - exit 98 of the GSP. A very cute little town with several places to eat outside with the Doodles. Just let me know. Sandy Hook Romp 10/4/09
