I would be completely terrified of her, and would label her a crazed stalker. I would probably request a restraining order on her if she were a person. But, she is a dog, so I love that she does this, and it doesn't bother me one bit - I find it endearing. I think it shows how much she loves me.
But I will be in the kitchen making some food, or near the washer/dryer doing laundry, brushing my hair in the bathroom mirror.... I can always feel that someone is watching me.... And it's always Annie. She will crane her neck over the couch from across the room so she can see me. If I leave her sight behind a wall or barrier, she will move her head so she can watch me. It doesn't matter where I am or what I'm doing, Annie will either be RIGHT at my side, or watching my every move from wherever she is standing or laying.
I'm sure Annie cannot be the only doodle that does this. Annie is the first (but not last) doodle I've had, and she is also the first dog I've ever had that has to watch my every move or be right by my side. I think this makes her the best dog ever, because she is so loyal to me... But are there any other doodles out there that would be a crazy stalker if they were not a dog?

Trav is a momma's boy. He doesn't always follow me from room to room, but I think he always knows where I am. When he's off leash, he has a certain self-imposed distance from me that is okay, and he doesn't go beyond that. Some nights he'll sleep for a while in the living room, but he'll drift back to the bedroom and is always there in the morning. Annie is a sweetie, and I'm glad you're enjoying her stalker self. lol
Stanlee’s stalking literally starts from the moment I wake up in the morning until I go to bed at night. The alarm goes off and he is right there, chin resting on my pillow, waiting for my eyes to open. Once they are open he kisses me good morning and starts wagging his tail and banging the walls, furniture, everything. And the tail wagging is noisy (I’m the first in the household to get up by about an hour and a half). We go out to the kitchen and I open the door for him to go potty. If I don’t actually go outside with him I better be standing at the window or French door or he will not leave the patio to take care of business. He MUST see me while he takes his first pee of the day. The rest of the day is the same. If I walk from the living room to the bedroom even if only to grab a hairband, Stanlee will follow me and most often beat me to my destination and wait for me because I’m not fast enough to suit him. I could tiptoe on stocking feet from one room to the next while he is in a deep sleep showing signs of REM and BAM…..he wakes up to follow me wherever I am going. Now, if HE chooses to wander around or play with Cooper while I am sitting down reading or watching some TV, that’s fine because it’s him leaving me but it is NOT okay for me to leave him. He is my constant shadow.
Thats so funny that you say that. It's not YOU leaving him. Annie is the same - Most times she lays right by my feet, but when the hard floor gets too uncomfortable, she will hop up on the couch and snuggle with Lucy. God forbid I get up from my seat to go pee, get the phone, get a drink - and her little head pops up from behind the couch while she watches to make sure I don't go far. These dogs - I love it!
Yep, Jack takes every step I take, always watching where I am going so he can follow. He doesn't settle down until I sit down. There was a discussion on here once about what would your doodles theme song be or something like that and I picked the Police song, Every Breath You Take. Now that we have Jilly, she is right there with Jack and I have the two of them following. I do think it's sweet and have gotten used to it! I think if they stopped, I would worry that something was wrong with them!
LOL, I guess my Annie's theme song would be "One way or another, I'm gonna find ya - I'm gonna get ya"

My guys don't let me get too far out of their sight either....unless they're doing something they shouldn't. When they get playing too rough I stop it, so now they know enough to go upstairs thinking that maybe I won't "make the trip".
LOL
haha super smart dogs!
Kona doesn't have to have me in his line of vision constantly, but he is a stalker. He can somehow sneak up on us by moving soundlessly even on the hardwood floors. He is also very gentle doesn't rustle up anything as he moves around. He is just silent. Then we got Owen who is by far biggest the bull in China shop kinda guy. You can practically hear him blink; he's so noisy.
This is so Goldie too! When we are in puppy classes the trainer actually has to take her from me and do some of the training with her because she says she is "too in tune" with me. Haha. Which I'm glad she does that because it's going to train her to not do things with other people (i.e. Goldie will NOT jump on me- I can't even make her because she knows it's not allowed. I can just look at her a certain way and she knows what I'm thinking. So the trainer has to work with her on the no jumping one).
But if my daughter is home then Goldie will follow her over me anywhere. Goldie just wants my daughter to be in her pack :)
I think you've just NAILED why I can't get Annie to stop jumping on people. She won't jump on me because I've trained her not to - but I can.not for the life of me, get her to stop jumping on other people. The only way that she WONT jump on people is if I have worn her ragged, and she just has no strength left in her to jump, haha. Too cute that she tags along with your daughter!
