Check out Rudy with the DRC (front page of Doodle Kisses towards the bottom there are rescues. He is a special needs labradoodle who is years old. Awesome that you want one of the older ones.

Good luck. Rudy sounds like a winner to me. I sure wish I could take him in, but I already have two doodles and have two boys (one too young to be accepted for a rescue anyway).
Also keep an eye on Miami Dade Animal Services. They have such a high intake rate and so many purebred/ highly adoptable dogs. the majority of their breeds are mislabeled too, so keep that in mind while you are looking.
Miche,
I noticed on your page you mentioned your grandson has allergies. Please NOTE~ many doodles are in shelters because people purchase them thinking they are, when they are not guaranteed allergy friendly. That is a marketing gimmick. Many problems with allergy situations and doodles. It would be sad to adopt a doodle thinking everything you read is true, only to have problems down the road. Also, this poor dog would loose another home ~ again!
Also, many doodles are not always good with children. Another marketing gimmick. Make sure before you get a dog out of a shelter you know the history with children.
You may want to look into other non-shedding breeds also.
