Granted - Toby is currently wearing a cone and breathing like a tank, so that may have something to do with it, but it seems that occasional insomnia is my new normal.  I am 47, and that seems to be an age where this happens somewhat.  What about it ladies?  Is this my new normal?  Because I have to say - it sucks.

If it keeps up Melatonin is on my list of things to try.
I had a hysterectomy in March and had both ovaries removed and I did opt for the HRT and it worked wonderfully! I still have a ton of sleeping issues but Its been more since my dad died in June. Wow I sound like a basket case! It's not been a good year. I did try Ambien once, it was awful! It felt like a coma or something weird. Now I take 1. Ativan and 50mg of trazidone from my doctor. I hope you don't get as bad as me, I just don't fall asleep. I did find that before my big life changes that instead of Tylenol PM on Unisom that taking 2 Benadryl worked the best. Good luck!!
I just started taking Zertec (Generic) for my allergies and hives, works and the added benefit is it makes me sleep. Doc told me to take at bedtime cause it would make me drowsy - Woo Hoo, just what I needed.
Last night the Sleepytime Tea Extra worked, so that's a fairly low cost, non-medicated solution. Thank goodness. The world looks a lot better with a full night of sleep.

Yes! Sleep is a wonderful thing....glad you achieved it with a healthy alternative to drugs. Believe me if I didn't have hives I would do the same.

Have a great day and don't try to catch up on zzzzz's this weekend, it would be one step forward, two steps back!

I think I"ll sleep better when Toby is out of his cone with his foot completely healed too.  It's always on my mind.
I would imagine...hope he heals fast!
