I am curious too, as I am thinking of changing to an oral med. We are thinking of getting Annabelle's brother, in the next litter that would be ready for homes around Christmas if everything goes according to plan. I think an oral would be much better for 2 dogs that will hopefully be playing together.
Id love to hear updates from those who used this last season.
Here in MN it seems I usually have to treat Trixie only 2-3 times during our high tick season ( we dont really get fleas here- Though it can happen)
Nexgard is working well for us! No problems. Bailey eats it like candy! :>))
I am considering changing because Ned and Clancy mat so much more when we apply Frontline. It seems to change their skin moisture or something.
It would be worth a try Nancy. I found it very easy to give and since we are in thick forest area in our cabin I feel the Nexgard worked well in a probably highly infested tick area. We have deers running through our yard all the time as well as herds of Elk and Javalinas. Who knows what they can carry!!! I am going back to frontline as it is half the cost and with two and using it 12 months a year, I just don't have any reason to switch, other than convenience. Nexgard is very easy to give, I will admit that, compared to the topical mess.
Sue, we have 3 dogs and it is one reason why I have kept using the Frontline Plus, but it is so obviously making the matting worse that I wonder if it is worth the extra money for the Nexgard. I wonder if it would still affect the skin though. Hmmm
I would continue using it if I could justify the cost. I loved it for my two. Since retiring, I need to cut costs everywhere.
We used Nexgard last year without any problems, and will be using it again this year.
FYI for those interested in trying an online pharmacy: Pet360 has very reasonable prices and offers a 20% discount to first-time customers. Winnie had her exam today, and her vet was more than willing to fax a prescription to them for both the Nexgard and Heartguard Plus.
We use Nexgard and Heartgard. I try to give them at different times. I mainly give the heart meds for the protection from other parasites. The dogs like to free range.
