Every evening, my hubby and my two doodles share an ice cream cone. Well, he eats his and then they get theirs..... They love this treat more than anything and, in fact, if we forget, they both come around the time we give it and sit by us and give us "the look". My question is, is dairy in anyway bad for dogs as I know chocolate is very bad for them.

Go on...give him a few licks..I love to watch how mine actually close their eyes with joy as they are slowly licking away...
Very cute pictures and I'm sure my boys would be right there with them.  About 3 times a week I get out the greek yogurt.  They would eat plain, but since we share it's my choice.  To them it's ice cream or pudding, to me it's a poop regulator.  Much easier doing patrol in the backyard.

Very cute photo's of your doodles eating ice cream. I've never given Sheeba anything except her dog food and dog treats. I've been tempted to give her some "people" food, but have been hesitant due to the fact it may cause her stool to loosen. I've seen on here, carrots, cranberries and now ice cream for doodles...how fun for them.

It probably will do Becky....but that only lasts a day or two. Be brave and try it once in a while. Would you truly want to eat the same food day in and day out???
In the summer I give Bindi Fat free custard but only in small amount & sometimes I let her like my bowl when I'm done.

Jack eats some icecream from the "doggie health food store" It consists of plain yogurt and peanut butter. He loves it, I only give it to him very infrequently.. He will be getting that, along with his doggie birthday cake for his birthday in March.

I actually am going to have a little dog birthday party for him and all his dog friends will get some. Insane, yes I know but it makes me happy and it doesn't make Jack to sad either.

I don't think you are insane at all Jennifer. In fact, I think people who do not enjoy their furkids like we do are the insane ones as they are missing out on so very much. I was telling my operating room team (I'm a nurse) yesterday about this wonderful doodle website and all the friends I have out there, and they thought I was "wired to the moon"....so very sad...their lost entirely...ha ha.
Hey Frances...last night was a full moon so just maybe you were!!!  ha ha   Yes, people think we are crazy but so what!!  We are happy and fulfilled and that is all that matters.  Even my neighbor who has the two Springers who are Gracie's best friends thinks I am nuts.  She loves her dogs but they are also "just dogs" and she sort of treats them like that.  When I accidentally step on Gracie I always apologize to Gracie or if she does what I want I say "Thank You".  My neighbor just stands there and shakes her head.  She said "they don't know what you are saying and they don't have those kinds of feelings".  I'm not sure I buy that.  Crazy I may be but I am happy and so is Gracie Doodle!!
Thanks Frances for making for feel sane... I am a nurse too, and when I was working full time Jack was in day care, a lot of the moms would use the excuse that they needed to leave early to get their kids from day care.. I always said I had a kiddo in day care too!!! They laughed so hard at me. Anyone who knows me though, knows that Jack is my heart.
