Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hello to all, I just bought this puppy from a lady, and she said that it is goldendoodle, and I am so galuble, even though I do know the rules of buying a puppy, so now I am not so sure that I got a goldendoodle, she said that he is second generation.

That is an awfully cute puppy - so out of curiosity I hit Google with "8 week old mini goldendoodle photos" and of course there are gobs. Not all actually look like the 'average', but those ears are so tiny and the nose so short. It is possible that you got what you were sold, a Goldendoodle.       I looked mini due to the petite features I see.

My advice is to hold him close and keep him safe - have him checked by a vet and the weigh in will tell if you are headed for mini or not. He just looks tiny - photos can be so deceptive.   I'm confused about the breeder/sire owner and photos - the vet says indeed she is a client. Well - it is also possible that not all is rotten!

There is a lot of nasty business out there, but he now has a home and a family. You have a puppy that you chose and love, that's all that matters now.

That what I have been researching, and it does looks like some of the mini goldendoodle, but if he is not, then what can I do? just keep loving him.

The lady give me the picture of the sire, and then while I was googling goldendoodle, one of the pictures came up, and I found that she used online picture from some breeder, claiming that its the dad of the puppy, while online its stated that it is a girl and she is located all the way in Canada, Ontario.

I don't know if it's a mini goldendoodle or not. But that's a pretty cheap price if it is.

I think at this point just pray it is healthy. You have already fallen in love with it If you decide to pursue any legal action the person that sold it would likely ask you to return the dog and give you your money back (cheaper than any law suit) and I really hope that is not an option for you.

So it might be best to just let it go and enjoy your pup. Very cute.

That why I bought it, and that what I get, because I have been doing my research for a long time and then without thinking went and bought the pup. But he does have a good loving home, and he is here to stay. I just hope that this is not a chihuahua.

for what it's worth I didn't go through the right channels either. I wasn't looking for a bargain I just fell in love with this particular goldendoodle and found out that they were having another litter with the same parents. Before I really knew what they talk about here.

I had first pick but they had everyone picking way too young. I really wanted to choose based on personality. I almost backed out but ended up just picking the prettiest. Not sure I would have picked the pup I ended up with had I been able to pick later.

But she is here and a great dog and gorgeous, and I love her and have let it all go.

I think, when it comes to puppies, most of the time we tend to think reasonably while been away from them, and then as soon as we see them all of our reasoning go up the smoke.

Ha!  Olesya

I did my research too.  I actually took my list of " 10 things to watch for when getting a puppy"

I had NO intentions of getting a puppy.  Within a half hour phone call, I was at the door with cash in hand. So much for  many months of planning and doing it right.

I made a folder and hid it for many months from everyone.

My dog was to be a Mastiff ~ but must be mixed Mastiff. Not a purebred.   It must be a rescue.   I was on a waiting list for Mastiff rescue.

On and on.

I have a small Goldendoodle with really bad hair   :)  Far cry from my preplanned list. I had no knowledge of the no shedding dog. I really had never met a doodle in all my life.  Really, I just wanted a dog in my life again so much.

I'm the luckiest dog owner I know.  I'm blessed.

Adorable!

It really is hard to tell what a doodle looks like for any of us.  We have every variety out there in terms of dogs in just the term Goldendoodle

Yes, some are standard but my photos dont look like the next person's photos.  When you mix a breed like this, who knows what you get.  In standard purebred dogs, they all look the same.

That is one cute puppy you have  :)

I want to pick him up and hold him to my heart and smell the puppy breath

For some reason ( fate ) this pup is with you now. I say, you stay here with us and we call him Doodle. You belong here. Many of us have dogs we have no idea what the lineage is and we love our pets regardless.

Stay here and you will learn for the next time.

So tell me, what is your pups name?

I love the rose colored nose. His fur looks so soft.   Congratulations on this precious boys.

As Karen always believes, " Somehow, the right dog always finds us"

We dont always pick them but for some reason they found us. They are where they belong

well said - as usual :)

I was looking for a rescue anything, oh finally decided on a Lab - I ended up with the curly Goldendoodle in my avatar.   Golly I was looking - many of us were in such a state without a canine - so when we find love we grab it and hold on - it keeps the world turning.

I think he must be just for you and it's going to be fun watching him grow

Amen.

Thank you all for such a kind words of encouragement, we decided to keep him, now I just have to focus on potty training and obedience training. Potty training is so hard, and he is staying up at night quite a lot. Any advice on that?
