Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
We are currently looking at pups, what is the downfall to a medium labradood?
Can anyone with a medium please provide a picture of them fully grown ?

Thanks, Sherri!!
Thanks, Becka! Your comment made me smile!!
Luca was 46 pounds at his last weigh in. I was shocked but he's not overweight.
In pictures, Luca looks bigger than Fudge. He must just have more hair!
Well, he usually has longer hair than Fudge and he is always disheveled : ) He is certainly the boss despite his size.
Downfall? I guess that would have to be space. Do you have a large yard? What is the size of your vehicles? How do you plan to transport your doodle? Your bed? Will the dog be sleeping on the bed or on his/her own bed? I have two doodles, one a long-legged goldendoodle who is 30 inches tall and weighs 90 pounds. My smaller dog is a 50-lb. ALD. They are both great dogs and our car is a doodle-mobile. The back is fixed for the dogs and has a plastic bed liner for trips to the beach. We put down beds for their longer trips. So, I guess it matters what you plan to do with your doodle. Ours have foam beds for sleeping indoors and other beds for the out-of-doors. However, they get on our bed (when invited in the morning) for our coffee and their scratches. Medium sized? I guess that would be our ALD. However, the best dog I EVER had was Hondo, a 105-lb. labradoodle. Take a look at the photos on my page. There are plenty of them for you to look at. We adore our doodles and you will adore yours also, no matter what the size.
Sophie was supposed to be more like 55 or 60lbs, but turned out to be 39lbs. Which worked because Winnie came along and he's a big boy at 70lbs. You can look through my photos to see the difference. Just don't bank on the size, because it cannot be garaunteed with a puppy.
The only downside I see to a Medium Labradoodle is it isn't a GoldenDoodle ... lol, just kidding! We have Goldendoodles, one is 60 lbs and one is 80 lbs. That 20 lbs makes a lot of difference. It was our first experience with larger dogs and I love them both for different reasons.
Our Holly is a large (59 pounds) doodle and we love her to death.
However, we have fostered doodles which ranged from 20-pounds (Skye), 30-pounds (Bailey) and 40-pounds (Sophie). All of thewse dogs were great companons and super-duper doodles...
Lily came from a Standard Labradoodle litter, but is more medium sized (about 42 lbs). While she isn't exactly the size we were hoping for, we love her a lot. A couple of the bonuses are that she is easier to cuddle with, she takes up less space on the bed, and heartworm and flea/tick meds are cheaper! All the same Labradoodle personality and love, and a little less cost for some of the essential items. :)
Here is a photo of Hudson on the left (STD F1B Labradoodle, about 55 lbs) and Lily on the right (F1B Labradoodle about 42 lbs)
My Riley is a medium/small standard, I too like big but being practical I live in a small cottage and also being able to lift him is a plus. It's actually hard to visualize from the pictures unless they are standing beside a person. I can't see any down side to mediums but I do know that whatever you choose may not end up exactly as you thought and by then it won't matter a jot, you will be in love.
