The last birthday that had any real significance to me was when I turned 21. At that point I was legal for anything and everything that birthdays could bring! All of them beyond that were just another year of wear and tear on the body. Just a number that kept getting bigger and bigger. Well, I now have a new appreciation for birthdays.
Today, the girls turn 5! I’m sure you are thinking 5, what is so significant about that. Somewhat young still, not old, just another year of Doodle lovin! Well, there was a point on Wednesday of this week that I didn’t think that our little Sophie girl was going to be celebrating this day with us. I had already started thinking to myself how sad today was going to be just celebrating with Lucy! However, someone was looking out for our baby girl and pulled her through and here we are today, one very happy little family of 4 enjoying a quiet day celebrating the most wonderful 5 years of our lives. While we realize it was only a bandaid and that the chances of seeing #6 would require nothing short of a miracle, we are so thankful that she is with us and feeling good and eating like a little piggy.
You have to have cookies and ice cream for your birthday!
I was shocked when Sophie ate her ice cream cone cookie. I think Lucy was waiting to see if Sophie wanted hers too!
It is nice and cold and the ground is frozen so lots of playtime outside today! YEAH
Our cookie even came with a candle!
Well ok, some of us share better than others! Lucy doesn't care though! I honestly think she would have eaten the whole thing if I hadn't taken it away! She can have a little more later on. After 4 days of watching her eat nothing, it is hard to deprive her, but don't want her tummy sick either!
