It takes only a moment before you leave your home to secure the cords. That is the best and only suggestion. Take a few moments, please.
I see all the comments about bitter apple, but that did not deter our ALD when he was a chewing pup. He was chewing on everything and we were both retired and usually at home (at least one of us). My husband discovered, however, that he really did not like tabasco sauce. He would buy these quart bottles of it and painted everything with a dauber that the puppy liked to chew. Corners of the walls, the deck, baseboard, and cords. He gave up the chewing quickly. You might try that.
My goldendoodle ate a new pair of bifocals with plastic lens when he was a puppy. They were on the nightstand next to my bed. We learned from that to put everything up and inside closets. He doesn't chew anything now. In fact, neither of our adult dogs are chewers.
Beau went through this phase when he was about 9 months old. He chewed through a lamp cord (that was under a table and thankfully not plugged in) and the antenna off two security cameras the tech was silly enough to leave on the floor (until the next day) and we didn't notice. Sprayed them with bitter apple and made sure all the cords were out of reach. Luckily for all of us, he just turned one and there have been no repeat instances. Maybe he will grow out of it and I've heard there are worse tasting things than bitter apple but don't have any names, sorry
Dear Jaxon,
Didn't the shock when you bit into the cord, cure you of this? It did me cuz I only did it once. I know computer cords are nice and squishy to chew on, but the ZAP really isn't fun. But then I much prefer loaves of bread on the counter, rolls of TP, and paper trash.
Your buddy,
Ned
Oh Ned you are so funny!
