I have been doing searches on DK for jolly balls and so i know alot of you have them for your dogs and were really impressed with them. Has it stood up to time? Has your dog kept interest in it?

Where did you buy it from? What side did you get for your dog? (Cooper and Abbey are 70lbs)

Our Owen loved the exercise ball that we had laying around the house and finally popped it. When the jolly ball discussion came up I was thrilled. I bought one the size of our green exercise ball. It was red. Both dogs are afraid of it and avoid it like the plague. I cannot make any sense of this. Glad it only cost $15. We've had it for a long long time as a lawn ornament. ;o) Spud really enjoyed his, maybe Joanne will chime in.

Extra info... I didn't buy the kind with the handle. Maybe that would have been more fun. I just figured if they liked the exercise ball they would like the big horse quality red ball. oops.

I bought one on ebay for about half the price others were asking.  I got the small one & the rope finally unraveled so I took some jersey knit fabric I had and braided a replacement...a long, thick piece & tied knots to make it fit in the ball.  My two doodles love it...!  The ball itself is pretty indestructible.  Baker is 90#, Oskar is still a puppy & they play great with it.

Our dogs liked the Jolly Ball, but chewed the handle right off. Once the handle goes, it is hard for them to grab hold of. Ours was 10 pounds and looked like this one.

We gave Quincy a very large red Kong for Christmas.  It's solid (does not hold food).  He loves chasing it and is able to get hold of it by the handle.  Seems sturdy right now-but its only a week old.

I have  purchased 3.  Two are wonderful.

We have the Jolly Ball ~ Horse Ball that has lasted a year and stays outside

We have the smaller, soft red ball, that he is playing with right now.

The horse ball is very very sturdy and heavy.

Blue Horse Ball 10 inches

I highly recommend this Horse Ball as being durable for heavy players and larger dogs.
Our second ball, is an indoor ball, a dog toy ( not a horse toy) , which Spud got for Christmas. It is soft, yet durable, but I don't know how it would far with the rippers and the chewers.
Love this one for the indoors.  It squeaks but very very quiet. Just enough noise for indoor playing. A little air exchange and it re-inflates
The third ball, the four-inch Rope Toy, I had to give away.  Be cautious of the size you purchase.
Spud strained to get his whole mouth around the ball and I saw jaw injuries.

We have played with a larger version and it worked great~ especially with two -dog type play. Just be sure to get a size larger than 4 inches.  I think 6 inches would be good.  He shakes his toys and beat his head a lot with this one.  But, good for two-dog play like I mentioned.
I did see this as a new item. Banana Horse Ball.  Would LOVE to try this one.

I highly recommend the horse version of the products.   Spud does not rip and tear, but he does shake and plays very hard.

what a beautiful of spud in the snow!

Thanks Kaytlin.  Let me know if you get that banana ball.  Or, which one you get. I would never hesitate to get another.

Sandy, Yes. It is soft enough, yet durable. Spud likes to squeeze the balls to get the noise out of the ball and it is holding  up well. I don't even see teeth marks.

Unlike that huge Blue Ball I pictured above that really stays outside. It is a beast but it wears him out carrying it around.  This one is only 6 inches. Opps, this one is 4.5 inches. Perfect

It is called Softflex Bestball

We bought Bailey the large horse ball and it was popped in about 15 minutes...  The we bought her the blue ball with the rope going through it and she loves it..She has had it for a year now!

Elizabeth, are you talking about this huge horse ball? The one pictured below? We bought that one also.  The one without the handle.  My recommendation was the Jolly Ball, Horse Ball which is different all  together. No way does the one WITH handle pop.  It already has holes and reinflates.   The one pictured below, similar to an exercise ball,  does pop. Ours did not yet, but we had to put it away.  Most who purchased this one did complain of punctures.

There are different types of Horse Balls.

Mine lasted a day or so. I bought stuff to repair but I haven't as yet. Any twig can puncture it, sadly.
