Well, it appears Kashi has an obsession with panties.  I know, ewww.  He especially likes to sneak in my daughters room and steal them.  We then find panties throughout the house during the day.   At first, I thought my daughter (she's 17) was dropping them or something and not picking them up.  I could not figure out for the life of me why she would just leave them lay around!   Then I caught him chewing on them a couple of times.   LOL.  He also likes to chew the insides of her shoes.  He doesn't damage the outside, just the inner soles.  I have heard of dogs stealing panties before.  But, I don't like it.  8*(  Its gross...  And he is even getting in the clothes baskets and getting them out.   How do we correct this behavior?  I have only caught him in the act a couple of times.  So, not really enough for him to get the message.  Just wondering if anyone out there has had to or is dealing with this issue?  And, how was the outcome?

LMAO - can't help you but it is funny!  ;)
I don;t know how to help you either but I swear that Jack would love to be a member of the panty munching club if only I would forget and leave my panties on the ground.. Once or twice he has scored. but other then that. He is POL Panty out of luck.
Not sure what to say except that I'm glad Chloe goes for socks out of the basket!!!!! Not quite as bad (unless they're my husbands after work socks!@%$#!
Actually, I saw an episode of "My Dog Ate What?!" and a dog ate several pairs of the teenage daughters thongs.  Eww!!!
Harlow will grab our DDs' thongs if she gets a chance.

Funny but not funny isn't it?

You need to set him up. Pick a pair of panties he can't resist. Leave them somewhere down low. Fasten a string from the panties to a pop can, taped shut, with a few coins in it, that's in a higher place so that will fall down making a loud noise when he pulls on the panties. A lot of dogs will stop after only once, sometimes 2 or 3 times - and then there are the others that are going to be doodles no matter what crashes happen!! Worth a try though.

If it will make you feel any better, Elliott has now cost $800 in eye glasses - both mine and my DH's. We have to watch him like a hawk. But it's hard to see without your glasses lol.

Good luck.

I would get a hamper with a lid and make sure all panties go in there.
I have to agree on this one. Because it can cause blockage if he ate it and it can be scary!! I am not sure giving him smething with her scent on it as it is his will be a good idea. Becuase I don't think he can discriminate which one is OK to chew and which one is not.... I wiuld also say that where ever the hamper is, the room door should be shut or should have gate to prevent him from getting to the hamper.

Oh man!!! Well, I have to go with the suggestion of setting him up and making panties scarier than they are tasty!! This method is used with some success to deter counter surfing so why not panty raids? You might have to set up several traps for him in his usual places.

We trained Tara not to eat paper she might find on the floor just by practicing the "leave it" command with little pieces of paper until she understood that she doesn't touch any paper she finds on the floor. And she is really good about it now. It even surprises me! But it did take practice and training. We didn't wait to catch her in the act but rather tried to be more proactive about it.

Thanks again for the advice. 8*)

I think using one of my daughters shirts will help. I wil put it in his toy box, so this way he will know its for him. As soon as he sees me put it in, he'll probably run right over and take it out. He usually does this with his toys if he sees us put them away. Lol

I like the pop can idea as well. He is scared of loud noies. He bumped an empty box out of the recycle bin today and almost did a backflip trying to run away! It would be really funny to videotape the popcan trap. Hehe

I suppose all of this could be avoided if my daughter would make sure everything was properly put away. But I am fairly certain THAT will never happen. And I'm not sure I'd put it past him to just dig through the basket anyway as she swears he already has.

If I ever wake up to find him wearing them?? Lol. I think I'm really gonna be in for trouble!

If you video taped  the backflip you could enter him into the Doodle Idol talent contest!! LOL!

I agree it would probably be easier to train a doodle than a daughter!! hee hee!

My daughter has that very problem with her Rhodesian Ridgeback.  Doesn't go for the clean ones in the laundry basket either!!!  My Gracie Doodle doesn't do such things and never has but we had a Lab before her and he would take my DH's underware!!!  Again, not the clean ones out of the laundry basket either!  I had to buy hampers for the bathrooms with lids and also the laundry basket in the laundry room where the laundry was waiting to be washed had a lid on it!!!  When he did get them he would take them out in the patio garden and bury them!!!!!  lol
