My 2 and 1/2 year old daughter has been cracking me up lately with some of her out of blue comments. Last night when I tried to get her to go to bed, she looked at me and said "Mommy you know sleeping is not my favorite thing to do, only biking is".

I was laughing so hard I was nearly in tears. She was soooo serious. The funny part is, I have no idea how she came up with biking. We haven't even went on any bike rides since summer and even then it wasn't often.

Here a few of her other comments that cracked me up:

"I love you more than chocolate milk and I reeeeally love chocolate milk"

"If we could eat stars and moons what do you think they would taste like? I hope not bologna sandwiches"

And my personal favorite that is wise beyond her years:

"I need to call the doctor and ask her to make your belly big again so I can get back in there because I was happy in your belly, wasn't I? I like to laugh in there"

What are some silly things your little ones have said?

Is this a trait she inherited????

Well Silverlyn is pretty soft spoken but she doesn't like to be bossed around. It 'hurts her feelings'. She's a tad on the sensitive side. haha

Maybe 'bossed around' isn't the right term.  Natalie likes to take charge and direct things and let the other kids know what they are going to do and when :-)  That sounds nicer doesn't it!?  Her first day of gymnastics in January involved some tears and laughter on my part.  She would not stop talking and essentially tried to take over the teacher's job.  So much so that half way through class the college student teacher had to assert to her class of little girls that SHE was the teacher (...not Natalie).  Luckily on day 2, Natalie let her teacher hold the reigns...mostly.  She is a handful and a half!

When my granddaughter was about three, she was looking very sweetly at her two-week old brother, then said, "We can put him in the trash now."  She's 14 now and hasn't really changed her mind about her brother...:)

hahaha...

Awwwe :-(  N had a tough time with her new brother.  For a long time.   Just super rough with him.  A hug would turn into a choke hold or slam onto the floor.  Which reminds me...

Adina--that sounds sooooo familiar!  My granddaughter was just the same with her brother--rough, the strangle-hold hug, etc.

It worried me for a looong time!  They still fight a lot, but I know that she LOVES him because she gets nervous if he isn't holding anyone's hand on the sidewalk so he doesn't run into the street.  The other day we were playing on a college campus and there was a door open with stairs leading up.  She freaked out a little that I wasn't actively trying to keep him away from that door.  It's cute =)  And then she has started telling me "Thank you mommy for making a little brother for me."  WAY TO MELT A MOM's HEART and make up for all your naughty-with-bro behavior!

Awwwwww....she's sure got a good vocabulary and smarts for such a little one...

Regarding her behavior with her younger brother, my not quite 3 year old said several months ago:
"I wasn't pushing him.  I was falling him in love."

She's super into "falling in love" and orders Clark to give me a kiss and us to fall in love all the time.  It's hilarious.  When he leaves the house she MUST tell him to "Give me a kiss, give your wife a kiss, give your son a kiss too!"

Oh my Adina! N sounds so entertaining....never a dull moment! She certainly is a young romantic.

N is such a character!  "I was falling him in love..."  Hahahaha....she's really got the family relations straight!
