Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Between getting to know everyone with Yappy Hour and the game of 3 truths and one lie, there is so much to learn about everyone and there are some really interesting and talented people on DK. I would love to know some of the vital statistics like: Age, Married, Children, their ages, professions, hobbies, a dream or goal you have before you get too old to do it. Things that aren't on our profile page already. With all the photos of ourselves we can now put the whole picture of the DK member together.

I'll start:

I am 57 and have been married to my highschool sweetheart for 39 years this May. We have two grown children, Michele 36 and Erik 30 who are both married and live nearby in Az. We have one grandson, Ethan,20 months old, who is my sunshine. I am a Labor and Delivery Nurse, somewhat semi retired and DH is a retired Fire Fighter. I love to make quilts and give one to every family member and so far have about 16 done and about 23 to go. I love to run, work out, be outdoors, garden, read, and spend time with family and doodles. One of my biggest goals is to hike the Grand Canyon rim to rim and also to see Europe someday. Other than that, my dream of being a mom and grandmother is being realized every day.

How about you?

Hi Ann!  Welcome to doodle Kisses!  your positive outlook on life is so uplifting!.  You sound like a truly wonderful person!  You're going to LOVE this site! thanks for letting us get to know you!
Ann that is so awesome,,, good for you...You are an inspiration
Ann, All I can say is WOW! You are amazing. I have always believed God only gives us what we can handle and to everything there is a purpose. Your being NICU nurse and have 3 children with this genetic disorder make total sense to me.I bet you have two spoiled doodles with 5 people to play with and home made doggie biscuits!  Thank you so much for sharing this with us as it truly gives us all an insight into what a special person you and your husband are. Certainly welcome as this really is a lovely sight with wonderful doodle owners.
Sue, Thanks for your kind words, but I'm thinking more in the line of "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger!" but I also believe "All things grow with love" that's where the doodles come in!:) We're so lucky to have two loving, gentle doods!  Ann

I love this topic and am enjoying reading more about you all.  I have been out of town and am in "catch up mode" right now...that being said, I want to pitch in here and will, soon.  Just wanted to say this is fascinating and I love it!  What a great way to connect!
Jump in anytime. Love to get to know you.

Wow, I gotta say there must be something about Doodles that attract the kindest, sweetest, strongest and just COOL people.

I am new here and have been asking all the typical newbie questions so I will introduce myself officially.  My name is Jenny and am 33.  I am married to the absolute LOVE of MY LIFE named Shawn.  We had a lot of struggles creating our family, but we got there and are the Adotive Parents of our beautiful, smart and just awesome 5 year old daughter, Louisa (born in Guatemala).  Then we have a homemade, homegrown ;) 2 year old named Maggie.  We have one very lazy, laid back Persian kitty cat named Moses.

I have not had a dog since I moved out, officially, a year after college.  Did my thing, met my husband, fell madly in love, engaged in six months, married in a year and now here we are.  Last summer we moved out of our townhouse into a single family home with a big fenced in yard, so of course you all know what that means!  Doggie Time!!!!  I love dogs, grew up with dogs, from the time I was born we had an Irish Setter, Labs, Westies and LhasoPoos.  All wonderful dogs and it's funny how they were all so different and special in their own way.  I miss having a dog around.  My girls both love dogs and cannot wait till we have our dog.  My parents and siblings all have dogs so they love playing with them all when we visit.

I always wanted a Golden Retriever and really think the poodle is about the best dog to mix with and now here we are.  We did lots of research and I just love the family friendly, silly, goofy, fun loving breed I have learned them to be.   We have a 5 week old Goldendoodle waiting for us.  Next week we do selections so I will have one to attach and bond with till he comes home.  We can't wait and are so excited.  So, this will be my first dog as a Mother with a family of my own.  Didn't expect to be so nervous but it's an excited nervous.

So, right about now it's all about getting ready for the Puppy!!!!  :D  We just can't wait to welcome him to the family and have a dog to run around with us, go away on weekends with and just be one of us.

Thanks for being such a warm and friendly group, you have all helped me so much already.  The information here is neverending.  I Look forward to getting more aquainted with the group.

Jenny

Pic of me and my daughters at Halloween, they were the Queen of Hearts and Alice if you didn't figure it out.  The second is my husband with our girls raking leaves in the fall.  That is us!  :D

Jenny - what a gorgeous family!!!! I too had a difficult time with 'home grown' children -    (love the way you put that!) but like you - we managed to be successful!   I know what you mean about having a nervous/excited feeling.  New puppies are so exciting!  We'll all be here to help you through it!  I just wish I had found this site before we brought Tori home - it would have truly helped us even more!  Can't wait to hear about your new little guy and see lots of pictures!  Welcome to DoodleKisses!!!

Jenny, did you join the Puppy Madness group? There is tons of info on there. Also the food group is unbelievable in the amount of information you will find so that you are sure to feed your new puppy well by making some educated choices you may not have known about. Other than that, we just have lots of sharing of ideas, help eachother with situations both with doodles and with life in general and it's just a great little community of very nice genuine people who all share the bond of loving their doodles.

I have joined the Puppy Group, the Food and Training group.  I am determined to try and get everything off to a great start.  I learned very quick how serious this food decision was.  I am so ready though!!  Can't wait.  I just love all the funny stories and adorable pictures too.

Thanks so much Shelly!!!  I appreciate and am looking forward to being an official Doodle Owner!  I'll be sure to share pics as soon as he gets here.
