Ever heard of it?  I went looking for it in Monterey today but could not find it.  I thought it sounded interesting as it contains probiotics.  My guys don't want to eat the dry dog food (Solid Gold) but I think that is because I am giving them the good stuff (what we eat).

Anybody remember when our dogs all ate table scraps and were outside most of the time.  Maybe it was because we were on a farm, but I never remember buying a bag of dog food.  They ate what we ate.  I remember one of our dogs loved peas.

Not yet anyways, lol.

Just curious- if this is such a for-profit pyramid scheme that is more focused on the money in it than the nutrition for the dog, what does that say about the breeders who push LA for the new owners? Maybe it's just me, but that just doesn't seem like the right attitude...

To me it said forfeit my deposit....

Amen.

Ok- just making sure I wasn't crazy for being totally miffed at the truth of it all. Well, I guess some may still see it as crazy, but at least now I know I'm not the only one who feels that way.

To me the only thing I want to be forced to do in a contract is keeping my dog healthy and well cared for and promise to spay or neuter it. That's it!

Yes, I was just curious also and this post was from  four years ago.  I think it is a for-profit pyramid scheme as  are many things around us today.  My doodles have died way too early and I am watching the series on Pet Cancer from the people who made TTAC.  Some foods are better than others, but they all are made from the same stuff.  Hondo could not have processed food and I cooked for him.  I probably will start doing that again.

They feed it to their dogs because they love their dogs , they simply want health for their dogs , as well as their pups. Its as simple as that. has nothing to do w the money. Every dog food company has levels of managment, please .

Every dog food company doesn't have tiers of commissions though. That's called a mulTilevel marketing scheme, (MLM) or pyramid scheme, and you can rest assured that every dog food company does not operate that way. In fact, only two do, one of which is Life's Abundance, which is in fact not a "dog food" company at all, but rather, one branch of a huge MLM called Trilogy International:

Ownership: privately held, principals: Dennis & Carol Berardi; Dr. Jane Bicks; George Jochum – also former CEO of Sears Labs

Compensation Plan: Unilevel comp plan with compression that pays up to 9 levels deep. Also: Trilogy Quick Start Bonus and bonus pools.

THIS IS NOT THE WAY MOST DOG FOOD COMPANIES OPERATE.

Pyramid schemes have cost many people their hard-earned savings. The concept behind them is simple; however, they're often presented to investors in a disguised form. For this reason, it is important to not only be familiar with how pyramid schemes work, but also with the different shapes and sizes they can take. One of the best-known examples of a pyramid scheme was run by disgraced investor Bernard Madoff, who was arrested in 2008 after losing some $50 billion of his investor's funds. (Many investors do not understand how to determine the level of risk their individual portfolios should bear. Read "Determining Risk and The Risk Pyramid.")

The Scheme

As its name indicates, the pyramid scheme is structured like a pyramid. It typically starts with one person – the initial recruiter – who is on top at the apex of the pyramid. This person recruits a second who is required to "invest" a certain amount, which is paid to the initial recruiter. In order to make his or her money back, the new recruit must recruit more people under him or her, each of whom will also have to invest. If the recruit gets 10 more people to invest, he or she will make a profit with just a small investment.

Further, the new people become recruiters and each one is in turn required to enlist an additional 10 people, resulting in a total of 100 more people. Each of those new recruits is also obligated to pay their investment to the person who recruited him or her. Recruiters get a profit of all of the money received, minus their initial investment paid to the person who recruited them. The process continues until the base of the pyramid is no longer strong enough to support the upper structure, and there are no more recruits.

Agreed.  It is not the attitude we like here at DoodleKisses.

I am so tired of dog food recalls, LA has been a business since 1999, ans no recalls. There is no mystery around their ingredients, call them you will get an answer.

My usual dog food of choice used to be  Earthborn Meadowfeast but they switched their recipe for the Lamb & Rice formula. It is NOW called"Lamb Meal". The recipe changed, they added more peas and now as a filler , they also added  tapioca ...which has no nutritional value at all.

I didn't know , but thought something was different when lately I noticed all of my dogs are itching, scratching, ears are bad, constipated, I decided to look at the bag closely and this is when I discovered the switch. We had been using this for past 7 years w confidence, Put all of our puppies raised here on it. Felt comfortable informing people that this was a solid dog food very nutritious.

I decided to join LA after receiving samples and my dogs love it, no obvious distress or tummy upset. The all life stages is a winner here. I no longer have to cook for them. I was adding hamburg and or chicken to Earthborn kibble for them to eat it, they all sopped free feeding this..because well its crap now. It is sold at "Agways", maybe the rep should have told all customers on the program about this switch. If you start purchasing and feeding your dogs LA , you will get a notice promptly if things change, as they know who you are as you order from a web site. You will also get invited to discuss anything you want w the veterineran Nutritionist, Dr. Jane Bicks who is in charge of the formulations and recipes of the Life's Abundance brand every Tuesday. A very transparant company.

On a side note : Everyone makes money in the dog food world also, they have reps and those reps have managaers, and those angers have regional managers etc... all businesses have multi levels , w each level making a cut of the profits.

All I know is side by side all my dogs prefer the LA all life stage...

Well of course, as a breeder you would take this position; you stand to make a little pocket change from this post, especially if people do use that link you so thoughtfully provided.

Recommendations from people who stand to profit from the recommendation aren't worth a whole lot.

Life's Abundance is a mediocre quality food with a ridiculous price tag, and your statements about Earthborn and lamb meal reveal your lack of knowledge about dog food ingredient. "Lamb meal" is simply lamb with the water removed, lol.

I prefer to pay for ingredients, not multi-tier commissions.

I stand by all of my statements about LA.
