Given that these are not real doodles eye contact is not all that important I think. Shaggy is wonderful though and if expressions are included they should be happy.

I have to agree with many of the comments.  Nothing wowed me.  Ditto on the cartoonishness.  I can understand why orange was listed as one of the colors so it works with DK site color scheme but I think of fall - Halloween and Thanksgiving - when I see the orange.

 

That being said, every single one of the logos is better that I would do!  My logo would be a stick figure doodle!  :-)

The ideas are easy, the rendition very difficult. But I agree about the colors and cartoonishness.

None of these are "finished" logos yet... but you are right.  No one said this was an easy assignment!

I think you really should have a poll on DK so people could choose among all the designs. Limiting it to 8 leaves out many of the member's favorites I think. I would guess a main impetus of a logo is to have it on merchandise you want to sell and although I readily admit that my tastes may be quirky I wouldn't buy anything with any of these 8. A stylistic but realistic doodle would be something I could go for. Also, the time frame for the whole thing was really short. Was this dictated by the 99 Design site or why the rush?

Having a poll that includes every design would be... really unwieldy!  But please, if you have a different favorite design that you would like included in a future poll (we will have some more as designers make revisions), please mention the design number here.  Thx!

I went to comment as well, and none of them really did it for me.  My concern is that if they just say "Doodle Kisses", does that really tell someone unfamiliar with DK what it is ..... are we assuming they are smart enough to know it is a website?   Seems that the "Where Doodle Owners Connect" is very important, and to me a small ".com" should be added also.  I agree with the need for a shaggy doodle imagine and a smiling doodle as well.  Really tough job but I'm sure you will get there.

"Where Doodle Owners Connect" will be in the finished logo no matter which one is chosen.  So yes, that is very important.  And when we use the logo offline, there will be a small ".com" found somewhere as well.  The logo will have slightly different versions based on where it is used.  We'll address that more when the design is more finalized.  (We don't need all the designers coming up with other versions if we aren't going to use their design.)  And somewhere on the web site it will also say "Where Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Owners Connect"... we gotta please the search engines too.  :-)

 

We feel a bit like The Bachelor / Bachelorette in this process... we'll be sending home some very good designs.  At least we don't have to go through any ridiculous rose ceremonies where Chris Harrison walks in at the end and says "Ladies, the final rose."  OK.  Back to logos and no more addicting trash TV.  :-)
