Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hey guys! I'm really new to this webpage and I wasn't sure where I'm supposed to post something like this so I tried here. I've been looking into a LOT of breeders, and I live in Arizona. I tried the goldendoodles.com website and looked up the breeders, but I really can't find many who sell English Goldendoodles. So to make a long story short, I'm basically looking for a standard english goldendoodle puppy that would be ready to go this summer, and I'm kind of hoping it would be an apricot color rather than the typical light cream color. If anyone knows of any good breeders, or knows of any puppies, I would love love love to hear from you! Thanks guys! The picture I attached is the color I'm looking for...all the english goldendoodles I tend to see however are they cream colored...

have you also checked the Premium Breeder list? http://www.goldendoodle-labradoodle.org/Goldendoodle_Labradoodle_Pr...

Between our site, goldendoodles.com and the list above....that pretty much covers the well known breeders, although there is still a chance that a handful of new breeders who are good may not be on there...doubt there are toooo many.
Hi Amanda,
I am not sure what you mean about an English Golden Doodles, but my puppy Thomas looks just like the picture you posted. I am from Canada, and the breeder was a mennonite farmers wife and specializes in this type of dog. She ships them to places all over the world-even China(apparently wealthy Chinese people want these dogs because of their good looks, intelligence, and non shedding coats) I think that is great that the Chinese want a well bred dog and turn to us in North America. The breeder's name is Lovina and she breeds Golden Doodles, Austrailian doodles and sometime labradoodles. We visited her farm and the kennel was like walking into a hospital. Before you can enter you have to wipe your shoes/boots on an antiseptic mat then wash your hands with an antiseptic lotion and clean you chest area with the same thing before she will let you handle the puppies. It was an awesome experience. The breeder has a web site which is www.burkhartskennels.com/. Check it out as a comparison for your research. After we brought Thomas home(we live in Toronto) I found many sites for Golden Doodles and many dogs throught out the USA came to these people from this kennel. Pls keep in mind that this web site will not be too exciting as she does not even own a computer-so she hires someone in the village to take care of this. They are very simple people-her 11 children !!! help on the farm and help to take care of the dogs-so they are well socialized, that's for sure. Good luck in your search and let me know how you make out.

Amanda,
I was just like you, I researched for a long time and searched for a breeder, I had an apricot one picked out just like your picture........then I miraculously found a breeder an hour away from us!! As you can see, however, when I went to get my doodle.....a cute little black one picked me!! So when you find a breeder, do not be surprised if your pick of the litter changes!! There are hundreds of breeders........but find the right one and they almost all will ship to you for a couple of hundred dollars......may sound like a lot but if you buy the puppy what is just a bit more for shipping if it is the one you want! Good luck and let me know!

Hey guys, so with a little more research I came across Goldens-N-Doodles (Teri Fann) and of course I found that she is breading a red poodle to an english golden retriever! Perfect right? Thats bound to produce an apricot golden! Anyway, if anyone on here has bought a puppy from her I would love to see pics/hear about your dog! Thanks for your guys's help!!
That is great, but ask her about the coat colour change if you are set on a redish colour. Our GD was really dark red at 8 weeks old but is geting lighter and lighter now at 5 mths old. He will still be apricotish in colour I hope when he is older, but we love him so much we don't care any more. He is what he is. His father was a dark apricot/brownish standard poodle, mother was a very red Reteiver. We chose the darkest male puppy of the litter, who also was the tank of the litter. He is 40 lbs. at 5 mths. So happy for you
Well we are looking for the "golden retriever" gold color, and we don't want red, so if the dog lightens up its ok just as long as it doesn't turn white! Haha. I feel so picky, but honestly I feel that once I see the puppy's face I wont care what color they are!
Good attitude- I have had friends that wanted an apricot colour and ended up picking a black or brown puppy. Just depends on the vibes you get when you go, if you can go in person. If they are shipping the pup to you, you get what you get. Ours as I sai was a dark rusty colour and has now turned a golden red or apricot colour. We are stopped wherever we go with him by people who want to know what kind of dog this "teddy bear" is.
Is the dog in your picture the "red" puppy you bought? Because he is so light now! He is the color I'm looking for!
Yes that is him-He is a gorgeous colour now but was a rusty reddidh colour when we brought him home. We even thought of naming him rusty. From what I know-all of the reds-even brown can lighten in a few months. I know of a dark brown labradoodle who turned a light taupe colour by the time he was full grown. It is so unusual and beautiful, but they originall wanted chocolate brown. Your breeder will know wich pup will be the colour you want.
Thats so crazy! I'm sure Teri will know what colors her puppies will change. But that almost makes me want to get a reddish one because the color goldendoodle you have now is the exact color I want. He is absolutely beautiful by the way!
You are right- it is crazy and thanks-he is absolutely gorgeous! We get stopped wherever we go and people ask about him because he looks like a "teddy bear". Our breeder actually calls her pups" the teddy bear dogs". She led us to this puppy right away because we had told her we wanted a square jaw-not the poodle jaw and a really fluffy, wavy , non shedding coat. she picked out two males with this criteria- one was Thomas with the rusty colour-the other was about the colour he is now but was smaller. Well we picked doggy # 1, but I really wanted them both. His coat changes every day and he is getting lighter spots on him, but in some spots still has the rust colour(ears) Hey- we figure he has "highlights" I cannot wait now until you get a puppy so you can send me pictures. Will you have a male or a female? From what I hear there is no difference in temperament so it really doesn't matter. I am thinking of getting a female though next year as a playmate for Thomas.
That is EXACTLY what I'm looking for, the teddy bear look (square jaw, really fluffy like an olde english sheepdog) the less like a poodle the better (minus the shedding of course haha). I find that the english goldendoodles tend to fit that description pretty well though. And ya, I put a hold on Teri Fann's upcoming litter between a red standard poodle and an english golden retriever. I think it will get some nice colors! When it comes to the sex, I dont know, i want a male but my boyfriend wants a female, so we've decided that whichever one is cuter and has a better personality we will choose. If I could support 2 dogs however I would def get 2..but I'll save that until I'm done with graduate school! I'll keep you updated though, and soon as I get pictures I would be more than happy to share them, Im so excited!
