Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
We are vacationing in Seacrest Beach near Panama City Beach FL. The family upstairs lost their doodle last night. (New Year's Eve). They are heartbroken, but have to return home today. They have posted flyers with their phone number in the area.
His name is Cooper, and is a black 4yr old Labradoodle weighing about 32 lbs. He is microchipped, but has no tags on his collar.
We will be in the area for the winter, and have told the family that we will continue to look for Cooper. They left his blanket and one of his toys in front of our door to possibly attract him to us.
They left their contact info with the emergency vet in Panama City.
Is there anything else that we should do? We drove around the neighborhood and spoke to people who were out and gave them the phone number.
Thanks for any help. We feel so bad for this family.

I haven't heard anything. His owners are back in town, but are not staying at the same condo complex that I'm renting. They promised to let us know if there is any news.
This always breaks my heart. My pet store always has lost dog/cat flyers on their windows. It never fails, I always leave that store in tears.
It's so sad. I really thought that by now there would have been some good news. I'm afraid that maybe someone has him and plans to keep him.
I feel like it's hard to know what to hope for in these situations. Of course they don't want someone to take him and keep him, but I think I might feel better knowing that than thinking that he was outside lost and cold and hungry. Either way, I feel so sorry for the poor dog.
Some areas have a email organization called NEXTDOOR. If Seacrest Beach near Panama City Beach FL has one I would get a notice and photo to them. Our daughter was reunited with their very loved family cat by the NEXTDOOR site.
The owners said that they won't let her list him on Next Door because they are not residents in the area. Doesn't make a lot of sense...
It doesn't seem right. :(
That's the way Nextdoor works. You have to be invited to join by someone in the neighborhood and then you are accepted into the group. She would need to ask someone to post a message in the group for her.
My daughter had her neighbor who was a member of NEXT DOOR post a 'lost cat' notice with her cat's photo for her. All my daughter's neighbors kept watching for news of her cat. We had almost given up when 2 months later someone posted in NEXT DOOR that there was a cat hanging out in their back yard. Wally (the cat) was found. Tears of joy were felt by all the family.
What great news for your daughter's family. I'm hoping for the same for Cooper's family. We haven't heard any news since Tuesday, but there are many people out looking every day and many signs all over. They put Cooper's dog bed out front and his blanket is on our railing and I saw a new blanket this morning on the bike rack.
COOPER HAS BEEN FOUND!!!!!
We just had a knock on our door and there was Cooper with his mom and dad. He was found in the area and is none the worse for wear.
We are so happy for Cooper and his family. :)
