Lymphosarcoma in Doodles

So awfully difficult to write about -- I've not been on the site in ages; things had been going so well with our 3 1/2 yr old chocolate mini-Australian labradoodle. His pictures don't even do him justice. We get stopped every time we go out with him; he is just so adorable and sweet natured. But we were shocked and devastated to learn last week of his diagnosis - I can even feel his enlarged lymph nodes I'm waiting for a call back from a recommended oncologist tomorrow; even had a homeopath friend check with some of her colleagues here and all advised the same. Have to wonder if/what others have experienced. I want to give Bosco a fighting chance IF it's reasonable to do so. I read of one other Labradoodle who went through chemo and the results - which I know is not curative, only palliative. Our hearts are just breaking.

Bosco looks like a chocolate Tara! :) What a sweetie. I just hate the thought of him being ill and every time I think of him I  go give Tara a big hug and kiss. Sometimes it is easy to forget how fragile life can be.

Give Tara a kiss from me, too!  And definitely remember to treasure and cherish every moment!!

I'll never forget one day in spring of 2009, when I knew my Lab Casey's days were winding down in her 14th year, I took her to a park and kept thinking, "I have to remember this moment! I have to remember the trees, the air, the mountains, our time here"....until that little voice came - whatever one wants to call such gentle voices -- and reminded me, "The point isn't to remember the moment, it's to be the moment".  What a shift that inspired!  And I went from focusing on the scenery, the day - to simply being with my dog.  Being present and in the moment.  It's what matters most.
