Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hi everyone,

Mac is doing well. He finally started eating on schedule (he loves acana so much more than the Kirkland he was on he is actually trying to eat only the acana nuggets  while I am trying to do the food swap), sleeping in his crate and coming up to us for attention. Its slow going but I feel like I can see a little spark in his eyes. It will take a while for us to see who he really is but at least he trusts us and gets along with our dogs.

On a completely trivial topic, I am wondering what he might look like when his coat grows out. Ive attached some pictures and ask for your opinions. He does have some coarser hair along his back that is a goldish color. And his tail is straighter than the labradoodles I have (Mac is supposedly a goldendoodle but who knows).

Here are a few pictures and one with him next to Brisby who is a multigen labradoodle. if you have a similar looking doodle when shaved down can you post a picture of what they look like with more coat? Im just curious. I know all of these dog's coats are unique so there are no guarantees what he will look like until it actually grows out.

Sorry the Pictures are a bit blurry!

Another Face shot

And another. Legs are curlier than his back.

He's about 55 lbs.

And Brisby and Mac (Brisby is in the back with a rose nose and Mac is in front with the black nose):

Thanks and Big Mac and the PB&J sandwich say Hello!

I'm so glad Mac is doing well with his adjustment to his new home and that he loves his new food. :)

As for his coat, I have no idea what it might be like when it grows out, but he sure has a world-class doodle nose!

I know Karen. That's what hooked me, that big black nose. It's huge!

Have no idea about coats, but I love him!  So glad things are looking up!

This is going to be exciting.  Who knows?  I dont. I dont think it will be tight curls like Spud.  I shave him often. I'll try to show you what a curly, shaved dog looks like when I find a photo.

Keep in mind Spud's body, head, and legs are very tight curls but his ears and tail are wavy fleece curls. Big difference. Mac doesnt look wooley

So glad to hear your update. He must think he is in heaven. Bless his heart. Such relief he will soon know when he realizes it is all true

Hmmm, I switched computers.  Mac definitely has a soft wavy coat. Just my opinion

Yes,Joanne, I don't think he has tight curls either. Jake's coat (our black rescue) has almost completely a poodle coat and shaved down he doesn't look like what Jake does when he is. I'm wondering if he willbe closer to brisby. She doesn't shed.
Btw spud is darling!iwant to kiss him!

Spud sends kisses back to ALL of you!

Geesh, I forgot all about Jake's coat. I remember, like yesterday, when you brought him home.

Yes so does my mom, who won't let me forget it as she doesn't think we should have got Mac. Lol!

I'm just wondering if there are pictures of doodles with straighter coats that don't shed. I mean it's not straight, it's defiantly wavy but more oF a loose wave. I've brushed and brushed because it looks like it could be some shedding hair in there but I don't get anything on the brush and no hair in his crate or anywhere in the house or car.
Calla does not shed and she has a wavy not curly coat. Mac may be a bit wavier than her. She has not been shaved though.

I think I need more caffeine or sleep... I just read

"I'll try to show you what a curly, shaved dog looks like when I find a potato."

Sigh. lol.  I guess the name Spud rattled around in my brain and that's what came out.

LMAO!   J, is motherhood keeping you up still  :)

Thank you for the laugh
