Last week our son, Alex, noticed that Mariner face was swelled.  Sharon and I brought him to the vet.  He immediately said it was a tooth abscess and gave him Clavamox.  Within a day or so we noticed the difference.  We couldn't beleive how much weight Mariner has gained.  He is now 90 pounds.  Instead of giving him his Potaasium Bromide with ice cream - it is now low fat yogart.  Not as tasty but alot less calories.

Hope you are feeling better Mariner, don't worry about the yogurt thing, Christmas is coming and there is sure to be lots of extra little treats and you can diet along with the rest of us after Christmas.

I'm guessing he thinks the yogurt is yummy too!  Hopefully he is all back to his normal self now!

Mariner's abscess appears to be gone and the switch to yogart is a success.

Thanks to all for their concern and well wishes.

thanks for the u

I'm glad to hear this!

Great.

I had a horrible time trying to reply to this last night!!! All I ended up with was "thanks for the u" and I couldn't seem to get it fixed!! Okay, let's try again!

Thanks for the update! I'm glad to hear that Mariner is back to his doodley self again!! :)

The abscess did not totally go away.  The vet originally had said that he probably would need a second dose of antibiotics, so he is now on a 10 day regiment of Clindamycin.

It doesn't seem to be bothering him even if you touch the area that is inflamed.

Happy Holidays to all!!

Wow that must have been one nasty infection!! I'm glad it doesn't seem to be causing him any discomfort though!!

Hopefully this latest round of antibiotics will do the trick! Thanks for the update!

Happy Holidays to all of you too!!

Hope this second round of antibiotics does the trick! Happy Holidays to Mariner & all of you!
