Maternity shoot with our Doodle (Brinkley turned it into a game)

I'm due with our first baby in a little less than a month.  We took maternity pictures on Sunday... and of course we had to include Brinkley in the shoot because he's part of our family.  Here's a sneak peak from our session.  We'll get to see all of them in a week or so.

 

 And Brinkley was a good boy for MOST of the shoot UNTIL my husband and I were taking pictures without him.  Brinkley headed for our bag of props, dug out a onsie, and started playing keep-away/catch-me-if-you can.  He did at least 12 laps around the historic house where we were shooting and all training went out the window.  He would not "drop-it", "come", "leave-it" or anything else... until we bribed him with a stick.  Crazy Doodle!  Needless-to-say, we did not use that onsie in the shoot.

What a great family shot!  And yes, Brinkley is front and center, as he should be.  I wonder how he will like a baby taking front and center?  Good times.  This is a photo to remember them.

I think he'll learn pretty fast that baby is part of the pack BUT I do think they'll be some jealousy as well.  He loves all of the attention he gets all the time.  It will be a learning curve for all of us!

What a beautiful picture and a great idea to do before the baby arrives!  Brinkley just wanted to have some fun before a little one invades his life:) I'm sure he will be a great big brother!  He is so adorable and I love it when you said "all training went out the window", we have had those moments with Libby too!  Looking forward to seeing pictures of your new member of the family soon!

Brinkley has very big and round features but he's only 70lbs.  He's just stocky, but not fat.  He's very athletic and muscular. He always appears bigger than he really is.  I love all of his big features. :)

He's gorgeous. Our Bay looks a lot like Brinkley but we think at 15 months she's reached her top at 54 lbs. she is also very "full". Best wishes!

Thank you! Brinkley hit his height around 14 months but he didn't actually finishing filling out until around 2 1/2 or so.
