Michael Vick Wants To Own A Dog Again?

I believe people can change and redeem themselves... but I hate the thought of this guy having ownership of a dog, ever. How do you all feel about it?

I think I have to agree with this. Forgive, yes. Own a dog, no. At least not for a very long time.

But I do know that to a certain level of society, a dog is no different than a rat. They have not ever been exposed to the concept of loving an animal. In fact, they've barely been exposed to the concept of loving a person. Brutality begets brutality.

I just heard on the national news, which I'd recorded, that Part of Michael Vick's sentence was a lifetime prohibition on owning a dog. I would think it would take legal action, if that is even possible, to change this. Can people change? I believe they can but it it takes a lot of effort and the desire to change.

I wouldn't ever sell or give him a dog.  Right now here in San Diego we are having some strange things going on.  Two litter mate pups were found with their ears cut off.  They are on the mend but minus ears!!  Then just over the hill from our house they found a shepherd puppy dead in the bushes.  He had been stabbed 50 times and they followed the blood trail for 1/2 a mile down the sidewalk to where he was stabbed.  I don't think anyone in either case has been found but what the heck is going on??  There are some real wackos out there!

My opinion is this - EVEN if he is matured, EVEN if he has changed his EVIL ways, this man does NOT deserve to EVER own or adopt a dog, he gave up that chance when besides the dog fighting he tortured and killed non performing dogs or their so called "jobs" were done.

I thought the judge during the sentencing said he would never be allowed to own a dog again.

Michael Vick got his 2nd chance to play football again. That is enough.

Ricki, on your question to breeders, I would hope they all would say NO and mean it but I fear I am wrong.

Sure he deserves to own dogs just like a registered pedifile needs to work at a daycare. Give me a break.  I believe in second chances in A LOT of circumstances but there are some - like his - that in my eyes you don't get a second chance in.  He doesn't NEED a dog, find a hobby with something that you didn't watch be killed in your presence.
