Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

This adorable standard poodle pup is available in PA for free--read the story below. I got this information directly from my daughter who is at Cornell Veterinary college, so it's on the level. They are looking for a good home for this little sweetheart. Only serious inquiries, please!!

Standard Poodle Puppy Needs Home

This puppy is adorable as you can see from her pictures! She is from a very nice show line of poodles with exceptional temperaments. She was very premature--she shared a placental site with her brother according to the US that was done while the dam was pregnant. These 2 pups were born very small compared to the rest of the litter. Sadly, the little male puppy did not make it-- but she did--which was nothing short of a miracle. She was born on July 14 which makes her almost 8 weeks old now. She is small, but otherwise doing great!

Her brother that died had kidney problems, possibly/probably because he was so premature....weighing only a few ounces at birth. This prompted my friend, who is an internist, to evaluate the little female puppy very carefully including doing serial blood work and ultrasounds of her abdomen. Her blood work has remained normal, but US revealed some abnormalities in her kidneys. If the ultrasound had not been performed, she would never have known there was any abnormality because the pup currently seems fine in every way. She is now about 6.5 lbs. Although she is still much smaller than the other pups, she acts 100% fine and is a typical poodle puppy in every way--so sweet and prancing everywhere!

My friend is looking for a special home for this miracle puppy. She is truly a darling and has been very well socialized. Right now, she is clinically normal. We can not predict if or when she may develop clinical renal disease--but we do know the US shows abnormal renal architecture. The littermates have all been checked out now as well and they are all fine.

If you are interested, please email me. These pups usually are sold for $2,000 each and their health is guaranteed. Under the circumstances, there is no fee and all that is asked is assurance that her health will be sufficiently monitored and that she will be well cared for as her health cannot be guaranteed. We only hope someone will give her a chance. She wore a pink ribbon as her ID in the litter, so right now she is fondly known as "Pink" having yet to be named. The puppy is in PA. Transport will have to be arranged.

Thank you.
