Hi all,

Tragically, 40% of puppy mills in the US are located in Missouri. There are over 200,000 breeding dogs in these places, and many are subjected to unbelievable pain and suffering.

Legs was rescued from one of these hellholes. A number of the dogs rescued from there had to have their little limbs amputated because their coats were so matted, and cut off their circulation. Here are some photographs of Legs before and after her rescue:

The Humane Society and other welfare groups are campaigning for legislation that will help these dogs. Any donation, no matter how small, can make a difference. To help, please visit https://hsus.salsalabs.com/o/17003/p/salsa/donation/common/public/?...

Thank you

It passed? That is GREAT news!
I am so happy it passed. I was stalking the web last night trying to find information on it. DH thought I was a tad loony.
Allyson, I was the same way last night!! I found a site that was continuously updating the returns in Missouri and I was checking it about every 5 minutes!! Finally, at bedtime I had to give it up!!! At that point it was 50% YES and 50% NO!!!! So you know where I was as soon as I got out of bed this morning!! :)
Mee too!! You obviously stayed up later than me!! the NO was ahead the whole time and I was like WTD is wrong here? Why was the race so close? I tried to find out the final numbers but never did. Why would anyone vote against these poor pups??
I couldn't believe the NO's were ahead for most of the race too!!! I was so stressed out!!! :( I was following on the HSUS site too and they said the opposition ran some commercials on the last day that were full of lies saying that the proposition would also effect agricultural animals as well as dogs. :( :( They also said the op started whisper campaigns in the rural communities. I'm not sure WHAT that is but it sounds like spreading lies.

The final was 52% Yes and 48% No!! Which is still WAY too close as far as I am concerned!!! I'm happy though!! :)
Sounds like they got their ads from Ohio's election last year. They ran all those ads too. Told us the gov't would take over all the farms.....We would all die and starve. Only Obama would eat...... Bla blah blah Ours passed too. To bad the State is to poor to enforce the new law.
