Moldy Walnut Toxicosis

I have just posted in the Danger group about moldy walnut toxicosis. Dogs can die from this after ingesting moldy walnut hulls or wood. Other moldy items, such as moldy dairy products, or bread can cause similar problems from mold toxins.

Thank you. I had no idea. We have a lot of walnuts on the ground right now in Ohio.

My lab once ate a Buckeye Necklace Creation my sons made in pre-school. I had to call poison control. Buckeyes are poisonous also.

Our dogs used to use the fallen black walnuts as chew toys when they were pups. Never hurt them. Thank goodness they only chewed the good ones I guess

Yes, who knew about all this. Apparently anything moldy can be a problem. You might want to join the Danger group.
