Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hi all!

So I will be moving in about a month which I am very excited about, much nicer place and wayyyy more space for the dogs so they should love that! Does anyone have any experience with moving and helping their doodles adjust? Who knows maybe they won't care at all but I would like to be prepared. they both have their "comfort corners" of our current space and both have settled into nice routines and I want to do as much as I can to easy the transition, I was thinking of having them stay with my friend on moving day and bring them over after all their stuff is already there that way they would at least have familiar smells. I figured I could bring them both over at the same time since they are practically glued to each other's hip these days. Loki, the older of my doodles, is the more anxious of the two so it's him that I'm more concerned about. Although since getting the puppy he has relaxed a ton so maybe this will be no big deal to him.

Thanks for your help! Oh and here's a picture of them!

We moved about 6 months ago. We brought Jellybean to the new house after we got the keys and played ball in the backyard with her and let her run around the empty house for a few minutes to check it out. On moving day we put her into boarding at the vet because we were afraid she might run out the front door with the movers bringing things in and out. She settled into the new house itself very well, but we have had a problem with barking that we did not have in our other home. The front door has a glass panel that has clear beveling that is exactly at her eye level and she will go to the door and peer through and bark at anything that is on her street! Other than that, perfectly settled into her new place! Wishing all of you an easy move!
