We Live in a gated community and everyone has pesticide sprayed on their lawns... As we were taking Derby out to go potty this afternoon a neighbor and dog lover yelled "don't let your dog on your lawn it just got sprayed".... Derby just had her third puppy shot last week what's a person supposed to do
I really don't think she's ready nor do I think it's appropriate to start running her to the community's dog park to eliminate her waste.. I'm not sure what is a good alternative.... not to have my lawn sprayed ever again and then my neighbors will admonish me for that....I'm not afraid of my neighbors, but seriously what are the ideas out there in Doodleville

Pesticide is different than fertilizer.

I thought pesticide was just used on crops and things like that.  Why would pesticide be needed on a lawn?

I don't use pesticides on my lawn but I wonder how long after its sprayed that its considered "safe" again. How many days or how many times the lawn gets watered. Maybe you can keep a schedule or use Jays suggestion until its considered safe again. Or go with organic pesticides that's safe for kids and pets.

If nothing else, you need to let the pesticide 'dry' for several hours before letting dogs or kids get on the lawn.

We have the lawn service do the front lawn only and my dogs are never on that grass. When I walk them ,its always in the  street so they can't get into anyones lawns. I always take my poopie bags, but never have had to use them.I have  a Husky that lives in the neighborhood and his "dad" always lets him potty in everyones yard.I would be afraid of the chemicals, even though they  say its pet friendly.

When I went to California and visited my brother his whole back yard was swimming pool and concrete.  Webber had to poop and pee in an area that was river rocks.  The whole time we were there he went just in that one area and I cleaned up behind him with poop bags.  I wonder if you could set up a small area for Derby to go to?  Something away from the grass.

I do think not spraying your lawn is a good option. I don't. True I have weeds but I just keep mowing. My neighbors do not complain and I would not care. We use too many toxic substances I think. For now I guess you could walk in the roadway near your home. Some pesticides like 2,4 D last a long time : (

All chemical fertilizers and pesticides are outlawed in our province so I never have to worry.  If the condo requires that your front yard is done, do you have say over your back yard?  If so I would not have it done.  I really do believe that it is harmful.
