My Favorite Present!

When Sophie and I do our Therapy Visits I always wear this ugly fanny pack to hold treats, along with my phone, money, pad and pen, potty pags and ID's.  I hate the thing and it always limits what I can wear along with it.  So I got this bright idea that it would be cute to have a "cheery" apron in all sorts of pet prints with special pockets to fit all these various things.  So, I searched the internet for aprons and came up with all these parts of various aprons that I thought would make the perfect Pet Therapy Apron and I put it on my Christmas list.  Low and behold, my dear Mother took on the Challenge of making my crazy design.  I LOVE IT!  It even has Doodle buttons on the pockets!  So much cuter than my ugly fanny pack.

Growing up Mom always made all of our clothes.  She was a wonderful seamstress.  But as the years have started to add up (she is now 74) she has just about stopped sewing other than small projects like hemming school uniforms or sewing on Brownie badges.  She said this morning that the most challenging part of the whole thing was getting her mind to work well enough to figure out exactly how to get everything to fit together correctly.  There are 3 layers of pockets.  It was sort of like putting together a jigsaw puzzle since she didn't have a pattern to start with for instructions.
