Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I am reading about the "rescue" doodle Molly...and I love the term "pre-owned" I just became the proud owner of a "pre-owned" 6 year old golden doodle. She has been with us one week today! So far I have had 2 trainers come to my house $220, doggie day care 2 days for socialization $36, heart guard pills for 3 months until we go to the vet $50, frontline $150?, new collar $30. Training collar $239. Bed $50. So when the previous owner wanted $50 for what they considered a re-homing fee (which I thought was reasonable) I assured her the dog was going to be very well taken care of and she actually waived the fee. I guess she had some empathy for the dog...or just really really wanted the dog gone.
She told me she was pregnant and had just married her "best friend" last month and it was HIS dog. She has a pit bull and a 7 year old daughter. So guess who got to leave..yep you guessed it...her new husband's dog. I think I rescued the dog from the "wicked" step-mother" So without further ado, I am proud to introduce our new addition, our "pre-owned" gorgeous...and might I add priceless Miss Elli

Elli is a beautiful girl and she is now in her forever home! Thank goodness for your kindness ~ she is one lucky girl! Looking forward to lots of updates and your two doodle learn to be sisters.
Thank you for your kind words. The very first doll I gave my oldest granddaughter we named Elli, after my Great Aunt Elli. So when the previous owner told me her name, I knew then and there she was going to be mine...and Skadi's, of course.
Thank-you for the compliment. I am excited about their future life together as sisters. They look soooo cute together...so far I have not been able to get a picture of their cute faces because they want to play so much...hopefully soon cause I love taking their pictures.
Darling Miss Eli - what a weird story about why she must move on. I am sure she will be better off with you. All doodles have darling faces, but Miss Eli's is something special
That indeed was a major concern of mine about Miss Elli her ability to move on...I didn't want her pining for her former family...I asked folks about it, I googled it...and worried. Fortunately she is acting so relaxed today I am hoping this is a sign of accepting us. One of my trainers told me they do seem to move on, much easier than us humans!
OMD she is just adorable. It looks and sounds like you both got lucky!! I'm so impressed with the effort you are undertaking to integrate her into your household and ensure that she never has to be homeless again. Thank you so much!
Entirely my pleasure to help Elli become the "inner" dog I knew was there! Fortunately she has been a dream to train...so receptive! Mind boggling. We are feeling very lucky.
Wow, lucky Elli and lucky you. She's beautiful. Now you get to stress over 10 calendar submissions. LOL
Hey don't think I didn't consider that stress before I picked her up. HA! Thank-you.
Thank-you for taking the time to read Elli's story. My heart is full of love for them both already...it's so like Elli was meant to be here with us...almost like giving birth myself...well, almost...HA
