This morning we had a squirrel in our yard.  Myla chased it up a tree. :)  Half an hour later, the squirrel was long gone, but Myla spent the rest of the day looking up into the tree and barking!  She did not leave the tree, even for treats!  She sat under that tree all day, laying down when she got tired, but would not leave!  How smart is she????  Luckily, she is absolutely adorable!!!!!

What a cutie! Riley recently spent an evening quietly growling at a plastic bag caught in the high grass next door. Our great defender. LOL

That's funny and exactly what Myla would do!  Anything strange when she does her morning walk-a-round and she is barking and quietly growling.  Even our recycling bins!

Other serious intruders include the for sale sign in our yard, the knome in a neighbor's yard, a gas can...... I do have to say though I am impressed in how she can differentiate some things. For example, she quietly growled at a sprinkler guy at the neighbor's door when we came out of our garage today. She doesn't interact with the neighbors but she knew the guy wasn't normal. She also saw a fox out back and responded differently than when she sees people, dogs, deer, etc. Their instincts are amazing.

Myla is a cutie!  It always amazes me things that grab their attention and then they just cannot seem to forget about it! The other morning we went through the garage to go out for morning potty break.  On the way through the garage, Beau stopped to sniff around the garbage can by the step.  We never put food in there (only paper). I called him and he came out to pee, then he disappeared back into the garage.  Charlie was walking around the yard with me, and I could hear Beau bark and then stop and then urgently bark again I went into the garage and there he was putting his head into the garbage can and jumping back like something was going to get him.  I looked in the plastic garbage can and there was a paper bag with a mouse sitting on it!  It has been two days and Beau still wants to hang out around the garbage can like he thinks that mouse is going to come back and play with him! I put several traps and have not found any evidence of mice anywhere.

Wow - what a guard dog!  I think I would like it if Myla alerted me to a mouse - but how could I tell if it was a mouse or whatever is different in the yard???  This morning she barked and barked at our kayak that was not in the usual spot!  I kept telling her to check it out, but she would not move, just sat and barked :)  She loves that kayak and when we're camping it gets moved constantly and she doesn't bat an eye - it just seems to be "her territory"!  Gotta love 'em!

PS  I hope you catch that mouse!!!!!

LOL!  When these doodles get something in their heads…Way to teach THAT squirrel a lesson Myla!

Yeah - I'm sure that squirrel has figured out Myla for sure!!

Myla you showed that squirrel who's boss! Lol! You are too cute!

Like you said, good thing she is so adorable - and she is!

LOL, It must be a doodle thing. This morning when I went out in the yard with Quincy, a cat ran out from under the deck, ran right by him and he didn't see it but he did smell it. He spent the next 10 mins frantically sniffing and searching the yard for a cat that was long gone. He's not aggressive with cats but he is very curious about them.
