nail clipping

any advice on clipping nails? have tried so many times and always cut the wick and briggs hates it. is isnt even 12 weeks old yet and i am wondering if the wick has grown down since they have never been trimmed. should i just pay to have it done? i know it takes time for them to get used to it but i dont think we can wait weeks and take it slow because they are pretty long already.
