Need quick advice.

My good doodle who never does anything wrong just stole a bar of soap from the spare bathroom.  Haley has chewed on it - there are lots of teeth marks in the soap.  It is not a deodorant type but I really don't know what brand it is.  It there anything I should do for him or what should I expect from this?

I know I would just call my Vet or the local poison control number to be sure, but I really don't think this is anything too serious.  If there are just teeth marks and not whole chunks of soap gone he probably didn't ingest that much.

Thanks Jane.  I just called the vet (fortunately she was there on this Friday) and was told that he should be fine.  I think he is bored as it rained all day Wed. and yesterday I was away all day.  Not much going on for him.  It is so unlike him to chew on anything in the house that is not his!

I used to get a bar of orange Dial in my mouth quite often as a child and teenager and I survived ;-)  LOL

Denise -- I must have ingested pounds of soap as a kid too !!! - LOL

I'm glad you called the vet just to be safe. I wouldn't think a little nibble or two of bar soap would cause a problem. Silly doodle!

 I think he ill be fine. I am totally guessing but maybe give him something extra to eat to dilute it. I have been told that by my vet.

Probably just an interesting texture for him.  My mom used to say she was going to wash our mouths out with soap if we used foul language.  I don't think it ever happened, but it scared me enough to watch my language.  Maybe Mr. Haley was just interested in seeing what a soap mouth washing would be like.

I can't give any advice.but I hope Haley will be ok :) Hurley has eaten a lot of things..and he has always been fine :) it must be a dog thing! They tend to eat things we don't want them to eat!! I will be thinking of him..

I think he'll be fine!  At least you called the vet to be sure!  These little stinkers!  Was he punishing himself for saying bad barks?
