Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

hello Doodle Kisses,

we are the proud new family of a golden-doodle named Graham. Our kids like to call him graham cracker. He came home a week ago and is definitely a loved little boy already. He seems very laid back although I'm sure likes babies they have a few very calm days before we will get to see his real personality. We knew he was going to be smart but we can't believe how smart he truly is. Picks up on things after only a few times of telling him. Graham seems to want to please us in everything he does and in turn is picking up on going potty outside quickly. Our girls love how much he loves to cuddle. We are so excited to start this journey with our Doodle. Would love any tips or tricks you can share that helped with the transition of being a new goldendoodle home. We do have puppy training classes scheduled to start April 8th. Hoping to start off on the right foot or paw if you will.

He’s adorable and welcome!

Welcome to DK!!!  Graham is so darling and I cannot believe how much he and my Murphy look alike.  Your children are darling too.

Murphy can home to us Jan 6 so she is now 4+ months old.  The other ALD is Tigger who is nearly 10 years old.

Welcome! Doodlekisses is a great place to learn/share about doodles. There are many groups that you can join. For example, there are groups for grooming, nutrition, health/medical, types of doodles, puppy groups etc. Enjoy!

WELCOME to DK - the best website around for doodle lovers everywhere.  My advice is to enroll in those puppy classes.  You will be glad you did.  Education is always good for all of us and you will pick up some hints that you never thought of.  And, the socialization is great for your puppy.  You might try to get the same person to take him to class every week.  One of my trainers said, "Every time I see that puppy, there is another person at the end of his leash."  And that was not complimentary.

The place we go for training won't allow more than one person to do the training 1 person has to commit to all 6 classes. They say it can cause the puppy to be confused by different commands/standards etc.
