As per Adina's request.... here is a place for us to discuss our thoughts on the new front page.  I am still navigating and trying to see how I like it... I will say though - that I miss having the slide show up top!

Easily bored, structure has never been good for me. I don't like chicken on Wednesday and Sex on Friday. Variety is the spice of life, however, I do not like these changes.

I think the person/welcome tool bar is too large otherwise it is fine.

Oooo learn something new everyday-never thought twice about it-but it's nice to have the blue banner gone....I must say though had it not been for the step by step blue banner I might never have joined. It made it less intimidating for me which is nice in a welcome sign ;-)

I've enjoyed some slide shows, but they're easy to get to other ways.
ie., Black doodles slide show - it's great! Love it when we can get the
eyes to show.
However, I don't know if I'd always hunt down a slide show.
Options to suit everyone. An easy click away???
Other than that tid bit, I too like simplicity.

That is the tough part.  Our DK Veterans need something that fits their needs...yet the front page needs to look attractive and inviting for those who have just seen this place for the first time.  To find that perfect balance...

Maybe you need a button for newbies to go to to read up on things to do , tutorials etc. Something along the line of "If you're new to DK click here.
