As per Adina's request.... here is a place for us to discuss our thoughts on the new front page.  I am still navigating and trying to see how I like it... I will say though - that I miss having the slide show up top!

well, it's still called blogs in other areas of the site (like under "stats"), so I suggest being consistent. There is no real diff between "journal entries" and "blog." As for what goes where: that will most likely to continue to be an issue regardless of what you call it :) I still think blog is more appropriate, and it's shorter too.

*sigh* you make a good point...but the reason it's not 'blog' everywhere is just that I got exhausted and put off the full conversion for later ;-)

I'll probably change it back after this madness of changing the front page only to change it back...LOL.

Well, you may be concerned about a lack interest in posting to slide shows but there certainly is a lot of interest in this topic. Seems to me someone once suggested a contest for the esthetics of the front page.

Just an FYI about the "font" issue. You can change this in your browser too to accommodate your wishes.
For example if you use Firefox as your browser, just click "View" then pick some of the Zoom options including a text-only Zoom. Works very nicely!

I have been reading the post here all day. So here is my 2 cents.
Very happy the slide show is back...but I also understand that DK is lots of work and being a young Mom now...I say do what ever it is that makes your life easier. Maybe have another member take over that weekly job? IDK
I like name Journal Entries insted of Blogs...It just sounds better.
Just dont mess the groups! LOL
I agree with Karen you cant please everyone,this is your dream,your site...do what you like.We will all adjust.
I do appreciate that you are asking for feed back....that is what makes DK awesome.
