Nice to be in The Group

Hi, my name is David and my doodles name is Pearl. Thanks for letting us join your group. Pearls is 18 weeks old and she's a lover. I have already gotten so many good tips as far as food and behaviors it's like I've been here forever. We live in Lakewood Ohio, on The North Coast. Lake Erie is only minutes away by walk or ride,which gives us lots of cool places to explore. We were able to see all the puppies in Pearls litter as they grew up, and knew that Pearl was the one we wanted. Actually all credit for the pick goes to my wife. Pearl was the runt, and she was also the alpha female ( 4 girls 2 boys ). She is bigger than all the other girls now so the runt thing didn't mean much. She was also the first to do most things, an as my wife observed them she said Pearl was sneaky smart. Se has a great personality and is very easy to train. She rings the bell to go out, and hasn't had an accident since the first time she rang them (about 12 or 13 weeks old). We also have an 8yo Shiba Inu, and Pearl has definitly made her young. All in all a great experience for all of us so far. Pearl has a great personality and temperament and we are hoping I can train her o be a therapy dog. I work in health care and have seen some wonderful things with these dogs. She is already in an intermediate lass and things are going well. Maybe this was a little to long, so thanks for the welcome.

Glad to see you've joined DK. It's a great place to learn about doodle care and meet other doodle lovers. I look forward to more posts about Pearl and lots of photos. There is a group on DK for people with therapy dogs... you might want to explore that.
