I'm sure that you are going to find your perfect match.
That's so sad-what about going with a doodle rescue group???

So sorry about your decision.  However, both poodles and chihuahuas are often safe for people with allergies.  We had members of our family with asthma and other allergies and had both breeds without  a problem.  I am suggesting this in

case the Havanese situation doesn't work out.  Good luck and happy puppy searching.  (By the way, poodles are much more than fancy dogs, they were originally used as water retrievers and hunting dogs, I say this because a lot of men think they are too fussy.)

Hi, I was actually offered a chihuahua and am extremely allergic to them. In fact I am allergic to a lot of the so-called hypo-allergenic dogs.  I had to have the saliva test done on the one that I am getting and continue my 45 allergy shots to prevent any allergic reactions.

I just find it so unbelievable that a person who has always been around dogs, animals is now so allergic to them.

I am allergic to everything else though so I should have expected this.  Thank you for your caring thoughts. My new little one is just going to be my little mini doodle dog.  I already love him dearly and maybe someday he can have a playmate.  :-)

My little Havanese is my little mini doodle.  I am so happy. We found him through an excellent breeder, and he was expensive. My hubby just said ok he is going to be the right size and of course he was supposed to be a she with white paws and nails.  However, he chose me. This breeder choses the dog (puppy) that fits best with the person and their needs. I wanted social, calm and sweet, loving.  This is what I had before. I also want to do agility training. I don't want much do I?

I know they will be healthy. They are tested as are their parents etc. Sometimes things happen that are out of our control but at least this breeder has it altogether.

Havenese are similar to doodles because their coat changes color over time, except the black one.

My puppy, a male one of only two without white paws or nails. lol chose me. He was the first one to come up to me in the playpen and check me out . When I picked him up he snuggled immediately and then kissed me. Then I looked and found out that he was indeed one of the two males. tehehe.

When I put him down by his brother and sisters who were getting in a big pile to take a nap he stared to get in the pile then turned around and came right back to me.  I was chosen!  Love

Congratulations! We can't wait to see photos of your new little boy!
Congrats! He sounds wonderful, and I hope you post some pictures. There's just no reason he can't be an "honorary" doodle (my Callie's bff is actually a shih-tzu mix but for reasons that I'll never be able to explain, I refer to him as and think of him as a doodle!)

I would like to thank everyone for their wonderful comments and when I am out and about with my little guy and see a doodle I am going to say to him" I almost got one of those beautiful creatures instead of you, but God meant for us to be together."  :-)

I am am going on vacation to see family and my youngest grand baby this week!  What a wonderful week this is.

Happy doodling.

If anyone knows Spanish, I need a name for Love, or Gods Love, or something similiar for this little one.  It needs to be two syllable and easy to pronounce for my little Cuban baby.  I plan on staying on this site if that is ok.

Hugs and doodle kisses to you and your fur babies,  jeri

I think it's wonderful and such great news about how "he" chose you Jeri.  Amazing how the Lord can work that out for you because HE knows what you need.  I can't wait for pictures and Please stay on the site!  I am smiling with joy knowing you are getting the right dog for you and your needs.
Amado means loved in spanish, how cute would that be for a little boy dog.
Congratulations, sounds like a perfect match!   Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy, new puppies are the best fun ever!
I think it's important for your husband to agree with the choice of dog in the home.  I had to wait and pray for years to get mine to agree to Dublin.  I just had to wait and wait and wait & pray.  Waiting on the Lord to have the timing perfect.  Having your husband agree to a Havanese is great.  You know your husband will be happy & you get what you NEED too.  Stay in touch with your "doodle" friends, getting to visit maybe helpful in getting over your doodle envy too.  You will enjoy your Havanese and fall in love just as you would a doodle.  Make sure you post some pictures, I would love to see!!!
