Has anyone used these or know anything about them? Just made a visit to the pet store, they assured me this is not rawhide and is a completely safe chew, just wondered if anyone has used this or would know if it would be safe? We don't give Toby rawhide, but it looks like rawhide, so any input would be welcome.

Not sure, but would the sticks be for smaller dogs?

If the dog is so small that he can't get his mouth around the chew, or lift and carry it, the sticks would be a better choice. The sticks are strictly for small toy breeds.General rule of thumb with chews is to give the largest one that your dog can lift, carry, and actually chew on, lol.

Toby is on a very limited ingredient diet, mostly grain free, which seems to work best for him, any time he gets anything "chicken" he gets an ear infection, same as corn, so we steer clear of those.  We do use some baby carrots and frozen cut green beans for treats but chews are the most difficult to find. I will definitely look into the beef tendons. Thanks for the suggestions, it is always helpful.

While we are in a chews thread....anybody got a Jerky recommendation ?   I just bought some Dogswell Vitality brand the other day and Teddy LOVES them.  But I'm not sure if they meet the nutritional/ingredient requirements of some of you so I'd appreciate some feedback.

My favorite dog treat are chicken breast strips from Trader Joe's which contain only chicken. A half strip would be more than enough for Teddy.

Thanks, I'll try and find a Trader Joe's.  I think there's one 1/2 hour away.

Frank, if you google "chicken jerky China", it will scare you to death. Countless dogs have become extremely ill and/or died from jerky made or sourced in China, including some of the most popular well-known brands. And small dogs are the most commonly affected. You really have to stay with the brands on our recommended treat brands list.

Yes, I have now bookmarked it, thanks Karen.

Frank, We buy the Fruitables Whole Jerky Grilled Bison Strips for Toby, we only give small pieces at a time, he goes crazy over this, this is a very high value treat for him, we also use the Starmark Treat Dispensing Chew Ball with them, we put a few small pieces of the bison strip in the ball, Toby will roll this ball around for hours each day waiting for his treats to fall out...keeps him very busy...we do put the ball away part of time just so he doesn't get bored with it.. These jerky strips come in different flavors, Fruitables was on the recommended list, maybe Karen has some insight on these jerky strips.. I know Toby absolutely loves them...

Anything made by Fruitables is fine. Very good quality.

Thanks, Karen.. I am happy to hear this, because this is one of the very few treats Toby can tolerate...

Great, glad to know I bought SOMETHING nutritious.....LOL.

I have some Fruitable snacks so I'll look for this product.  I also have the Starmark rubber ball thingy, not sure it's the same as yours but I'll buy it.  Not sure if Teddy will play with it that long but can't hurt.
