No Obstruction For Bear :)

We went to the vet and Bear is doing so much better.  They thought it was a virus but to ease my mind they did an x-ray.  They found nothing, but she did say that a paper towel would most likely show up as tissue.  He had an I.V. of fluids because he was dehydrated and they gave him two prescriptions one for throwing up take as needed and another for the diarrhea that he needs to take all of the medicine.  He's a little more playful, they said the I.V. would do that,  They also said to give him a blan diet.  So he's getting boiled chicken and rice.  He's going to think it's a treat and fake getting sick to get more of that!  Thank you all for your help and kid words.  Never had a sick dog before.  That was just like have a baby with a fever and not knowing why?

Had to chuckle at Bear faking getting sick in the future to get chicken and rice! LOL

It's great to hear that Bear is doing better. I am sure you are relieved. I'm guessing that boiled chicken and rice will be a huge treat for him. That's actually what started me down the home cooking path. Guinness was sick and the vet put him on the chicken and rice diet. That was it for kibble...he never went back. I think he would be absolutely appalled if I ever put a bowl of kibble in front of him now. LOL

I am so glad Bear is doing better Heidi! It is always so hard becuse they can't tell you what is bothering them.... Hope he is up to his usual playful self soon.

So glad they figured it out! Holly had the exact same thing last week, she was fine after 48 hours, but the pills for the diarrhea stopped her up a bit and she didn't have a bm for a day and a half after the diarrhea stopped...just to let you know in case Bear does the same! Hope he's back to normal soon!

Glad to hear Bear is on the road to recovery! If I fixed chicken and rice for the girls when they were sick I think DH would probably fake being sick to see if I'd fix him some! (I'm not much of a cook, lol)

Oh Heidi... I'm so glad. Those darn paper towels... what IS it with doodles and paper towels. I thought about trying one myself just to see what the hype was all about - LOL. I think that the towel just needs more time to break down or move down the track. Glad to hear he's on the road to recovery.( I know what you mean when you compare a sick dog to a sick baby... :O( )
