Non Doodle Rescue in NJ

I know this is a doodle page but a friend of mine that I used to know is apparently given her sweet nine year old dog away, all she said is he is lovable and has no teeth.  She said if she doesn't find a home for him he is going to the pound. I tried to tell her owner surrender to a pound in NJ for a nine  year old dog is going to be cold cement crate followed by death….

I don't know any rescue groups in NJ at all but do any of you know one that would take this little guy. I don't know why she is surrendering other than she is due with her second child and is a single mother…like that is any excuse… but at this point I just want to help the dog. I don't have the resources to know where to send her to .. She lives in Sussex County NJ so not to far from PA either.

I think it'd be worth checking out. I'd just recommend doing google searches and asking around. I hope this guy gets a nice home. (: Breaks my heart.

He definitely looks neglected. If I could I would take him myself... poor guy.

This breaks my heart. We needed to check a dog out last month for the DRC and it turned out to be a non doodle - 11 years old with some health problems - owner surrender.  All I could do was cry because I knew what that dog's fate was.   I hope this little guy has a better future.

She kind of got blasted on her page from her friends about the condition of the dog and then later posted that she decided to keep him…. I don't think she is doing a good job with him, I am going to try to intervene….. I know her pretty well, sadly we were ER nurses together in NJ

Hopefully she steps up. But as it now is, I'd rather see him in a different home.
