ok guys tell me if I am going crazy, Olivers nose is changing color. It used to be dark, now it is light brown with some pink on it? When I saw it I freaked, he did not get hurt or bang it or anything like that, is this normal?....He is 16 mos old now....Could it be something with the food? He is eating TOTW....Somebody tell me this is normal please, or should I take him or call the vet in the morning????
well it has been raining here a lot for the last week to 10 days, so maybe that the lack of sunshine is the cause, but whatever, as long as he is happy and healthy, he could have whatever color nose he wants, lol...Thanks for your reply
Tara's nose went from black to brown when she was around a year old. It seemed like it happened over night although I am sure it didn't. I just noticed one day that it was brown and I thought -what the heck??? Tara's mom had hazel eyes and a rose nose and the breeder had advised us that we could see some color changes so it wasn't too much of a shock.
Thats what I thought too, it seemed like it was overnight, lol...And when I realized it tonight, it kind of freaked me out. So of course I had to come right here and find out what the heck was going on. This is the best site and all of the people on it are the best. There is so much to be learned here, and no question is ever to silly of dumb to ask. There is always someone to help you with a problem, or just listen to you if u need to vent. Thanks Ricki for your input, I appreciate it....
Your'e SO right-this is the BEST site ever! I only wish I had known about it during Tara's first year!! I REALLY could have used all the helpful information at that time. Oh man!!! But I am making up for lost time now!
Darwin's nose has also changed color. It changed from jet black to a chocolate brown. It started during the winter, but even after 3 months of summer, it is still brown. I love him either way!
Hunter is 18 months old and just this weekend I noticed that her nose seems more chocolate brown now than the black it used to be - I keep staring at it wondering if I am crazy or not. Glad to know others have had this happen.
Webber's nose changed too. Overnight it seemed, at 11 months, it went from coal black to faded brown. I live in North Carolina; we have plenty of sunshine. It never changed back. I think it is genetic and has little to do with sun, plastic bowls or anything else.
That is perfectly normal. Jamaica's went from very black to this:
There were a few pinkish spots on her nose when I got her at 8 weeks, and [silly me!] thought it was going from pink to black, but it went the other way! I call it her Rose Nose and love it because it's different.
this is what Olivers nose looks like right now too,, and I am not concerned anymore if it changes back, lol, he is too cute and we love him and his nose, lol...thanks for the reply
