Not fat, just FLUFFY....in fact, is he too skinny?

I get very defensive when strangers says Chewie's FAT. He's not fat, he's just reeallyy FLUFFY!!

Look what's left of him when he's wet. He's a skinny minnie! In fact, do you think he's TOO SKINNY??

He's 8 months old, is around 48cm (19 inches) tall at the wither and weighs 16.5kg (33 lbs).

Anyone else with doodle about his height? How much do you think he should weigh?

I totally agree about the fluffy not fat fact. Mine are the same way.

I think his weight is good.  We get used of seeing the fluff on our doods so that makes them look really skinny to us when they are wet.

Yes, I think  you're right. We're used to seeing the fluff and then when they're wet 'poof' it's all gone!

He looks perfect :)  My Kona always looks "chubby" too when she has all her fluff, she just got a late summer cut, and she looks sooooo svelte now!  She is 17 inches and 33 lbs.

Sedona's a 2-year-old medium labradoodle.  Although we haven't weighed and measured her for awhile, she's probably around 17-18 inches and weighs somewhere around 32-33 pounds.  Chewie looks just fine to me, even wet!

My Vet told me Daisy could lose about 5lbs....he never even touched her - I so wanted to get her wet to show him how thin she was but I asked how he could judge that without even touching her - "well I looked at her chart - look again butthead" she is so skinny under that fur!

I am still looking for another VET! Fortunately another office opened up in the LaDeDa town next to us (the other side of the tracks ha ha). I am keeping my fingers crossed.

If the pics and video of Daisy are true-to-life, she has no extra weight to spare.  Btw, I simply adore Daisy's head-tilt video. So amazing.

Cooper is the same - all fluff. Lots of people think Cooper weighs 100lb plus, but she only weighs 60lb - skinny minnie under the fur!

Ollie is 2 and about the same height as Chewie and weighs about 27lbs.  The vet said that he is a good weight, but wouldn't be over-weight if he were to gain another 2 or 3 pounds.

i think Chewie is absolutely 100% adorable.   No, he's not fat; he's gorgeous.

Charlie is a med. 10 mo. old ALD and is  18" high and weighs 30 lbs.  My vet says he is just right.  You can feel his spine, but it has a thin fat layer on it.  He looks like he weighs 50 lbs because of all the hair.  Your doodle looks like he is very healthy (and he is oh so cute).  Do you groom him yourself?  I like his muzzle (I think Charlie's is way too long).

Yes, I groom him myself. I brush and trim his head and paws quite regularly, but take him to the groomers for overall body trim (once)

I keep his muzzle short so it's easier to clean him after his meals (I feed him raw). If not for that, I'd like it a little bit longer :)
