I volunteer at an Assisted Living Retirement Facility and I do game night every Thursday night. I get so tired of word games and am constantly trying to find something new to play that gets met with some response other than, "This is so Stupid!" Recently, I tried a new game. I asked each resident to write down four things about themselves. Three of the things must be the truth and one should be a lie. It was our job to then guess the lie. Unfortunately, I am dealing with the very elderly and was getting responses like: 1) I am a woman 2) I have gray hair 3) I am wearing a blue shirt 4) I went to the moon...so the answer was pretty obvious, but in a few rare cases we learned some interesting facts.
So, here is the challenge. Write four interesting facts about yourself. Three must be the truth and one is a lie. The rest of us will try to guess the lie! Let's see who is the best guesser on DK! Here are mine:
1.) I love to sing Karaoke and once won a Karaoke contest singing Eye of the Tiger.
2.) In the last few years, I have seen Beyonce, Usher/Trey Songz, Michael Buble, Sugarland, and Brad Paisley in concert and my absolute favorite is Michael Buble.
3.) I do not drink any alcohol.
4.) I played competitive co-ed volleyball for years.
P.S. Hold off on giving any answers until people are done guessing. I will post an update and then we can all tell which is the lie. This is hard :)
Well, I learned some facts today. We have some inpatient people on DK..LOL. I won't mention any names.. OK, here is my lie. Go ahead and give your answer too. If anyone wants to tally up who had the most correct answers, I will post that too. If no one volunteers, I will do it later today.
My lie is #1. I have a terrible singing voice and once when I was singing to the American Idol game on the Wii (I think), my SIL and DD said it sounded like an animal was dying. They made Simon seem kind.
I have been to all those concerts and did play volleyball.
My husband said the reason I don't drink is because he has to drink, in order to survive me :) No reason..not against drinking, etc. I just don't like the taste. I hate tea, coffee, most juices, and Kool Aid type drinks too. I did like that almost everyone thought I was a drunk. Please don't kick me out of Yappy Hour because my drink of choice is Root BEER.

1.) I got my private pilot's license and SCUBA certification in the same year.
2.) I broke my leg roller blading.
3.) I went to Richmond, VA for a Patricia Cornwell book signing.
4.) I was a member of the LSU Golden Girls..
1) True. I was 23 and they were both on my "bucket list". My dad was a rescue diver back when Lloyd Bridges and Sea Hunt were on TV. I later was on the transplant team and talked my way into flying right seat quite a few times (the surgeon wasn't happy)
2) True Over the kids Christmas break. My 5 yr old told my dad that I "fell off the road" It broke at the top of the boot.
3) True.
4) LIE I can't dance to save my life and, at 5'2" I didn't meet the height requirements.
Okay, here is my answer. You are all on to me I guess, good guesses. :-)
1 - I am a huge basketball fan and go to as many games as I can. NOT. I do not like sports. Okay, I like maybe one sport. Ping pong, LOL. I dislike going to or watching games. On superbowl Sunday, I buy chip dip and snacks, but watch Jane Austen movies.
2 - Years ago, I cracked my tail bone due to sheer stupidity. It still hurts on occasion. Yes, true. I was being silly and goofy. I jumped backwards into my seat in a theater. I landed on the armrest. Ouch. My only defense is that I was 16...
3 - I am completely blind in my left eye. True. I have been since I was about 5. I hardly notice it now. Really I just have bad depth perception, which means I'm terrible at sports. Which is one reason why I hate them. LOL
4 - I enjoy drawing, and have won a couple of art contests.- True. While drawing isn't my favorite artistic area (I prefer cake decorating and photo editing) I still do it on occasion and did it a lot when I was younger. The two times I won contests were when I was younger, high school age.
I loved everyone's questions, they were so hard! By the way, I'm so proud of getting yours right Laurie. :-)
