Obsessing about puppy name!

I get my new puppy in thirteen days and I'm trying to pick the perfect name for her!   Did all of you have a name picked out before you got your new puppy?  And if you did, did you keep that name or did you change your mind after living with the puppy for a few days?  Maybe I'm obsessing for nothing - maybe I should just stick with the two names I've picked and hope that the perfect name just comes to me when I hold her for the first time?

LOL, when I read the "over my dead body" statement, it reminded me that my DH wanted to name our pup Tiberius...after Captain James T. Kirk. And my first reaction was: "over my dead body". But since I love my husband, I made a compromise so Monty's official name is "Montgomery Tiberius". Of course, nobody calls him that.

What is it with DH's? My DH once named a cat Melchizedek!!! WTD?? I can't even pronounce it! So he ended up being called Keezy and my DH has since been banned from ever naming another animal!!

Okay, so there is something wrong with the DH's. I just read your reply to my DH and he yelled: " Melchizedek is a great name! Tell that lady to listen to her husband!" Apparently Melchizedek means King of righteousness.

Still, just between us, that's a horrible name.

Yes, this is from the man that came up with Tiberius, right? LOL!  I'm just glad the DH's don't have a web site were they can get together...what a disaster that would be!

I like your compromise with using his choice for the middle name. Which fortunately disappears into obscurity! :)
