Odd drinking habits

Luna is what I like to call a "character"  (read: she's a bit weird)

She has many odd habits... and her drinking habits are some of the oddest (I think).

1. She will NOT drink the last 1/2" of a water bowl unless she is REALLY desperate.  We fill up her water bowls at least once a day (and she has one on each of the 3 floors of our house) because she refuses to drink that "bottom" water.  Apparently it's not fresh enough.  

2. She drinks water then uses her wet mouth to clean her water bowl.  Luna takes a few very sloppy sips, then quickly transfers some of the water to her food bowl to clean it out.  Piggy or clean freak?  No clue.

3. Sometimes when drinking out of puddles (I discourage this, but she can't always be stopped) she usually blows bubbles in the puddle.  Why?  No one knows!

Luna may be a bit odd, but her quirks are entertaining :)

Luna, you are such a tidy doodle!  New meaning to clean plate club!

Quincy loves the running water at the dog park-but also sticks his paws in it after he drinks and makes it all sandy/dirty so I have to dump it and refill the bowl

Your Luna and our Sydney could be related.  They have the same features.  That's interesting that Luna doesn't drink the bottom half of the water in the bowl.  Neither do our "Queenies" plus they only like bottled water.  Sydney drinks the water from the side of the bowl.  She will not get her wiskers wet.  She's not fond of any kind of water including rain (Not a good day for her today!!! - Storm Andrea).  As for Olivia - this drives me sooooo crazy.  She sticks her face in the water bowl until her beard is sopping wet, then she walks around the entire first floor, leaving puddles wherever she goes.  She repeats this (we have counted ) up to eight times.  I finally bought those floor slippers with long shag on the soles.  I follow her around the house, until she gets tired.  Thanks for Olivia, our floor gets mopped.  Gotta love those DOODLES!!

This "blowing of bubbles" has got to be a Doodle thing.  Monty also does that...either with his water bowl or in the pool, but with the water bowl...he goes in as deep as he can and then also "fishes" for whatever little piece of leaf or something that has dropped off his beard.  He will play this game for the longest time.  What an incredible mess he makes and of course...by that time the water left in the bowl is so dirty that it needs to be changed again, but at least his beard is clean.  :)  Then he walks away....dripping all the way across the wood floor!  My Goldens never did this!
