Okay, so I have been on DK for about 2 months now, and I LOVE it, but ever since my life has been CRAZY...  From rescuing(the good part) to Bandit being sick (the very bad part) to dog sitting RUBY (the WTD part) I mean the last few weeks...whooaa can you say REALITY TV??  So here is the next episode(s) Yesterday I get a call from doggie daycare, the first day they have been back since Bandit's illness, and Bandit had been whining and crying really loud and then he wouldn't stop shaking.  So I tear out of work at 3 and pick him up, come home, both doods go to sleep and then I get a text that Ruby's mom is back in the hospital, they need me to feed Ruby let her out, but don't worry about taking her.  So I text all evening back and forth with them and our dogsitter  that Bandit is sick, don't think it's a good idea for Ruby to stay over, so I arrange for our dogsitter to stay overnight at their house a plan came together no biggie.  So I go to work...then I get a text that Ruby's mom is being induced so I need to take her to the Bed & Biscuit to stay.  So over my lunch I pick Ruby up at daycare, drive her to the bed & biscuit and go back to work.  At 2:30 my phone rings and it is my neighbor saying something is wrong at your house, there is water coming out of your garage.  All I can think is OMG Rosey and Bandit the are home!  There is a flood and they are in their room in the basement!  So I high tail it, running out of the office, drive REALLY fast home, thinking my babies are drowning or swimming or jumping onto everything to avoid the water, actually Rosey probably would like and indoor pool:)...  So I get home and sure enough there is a HUGE amount of water seeping from the garage I open it and it is RAINING in my garage.  I fly threw the doors and see my furry little monsters, THEY ARE FINE!!! Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou!!!  So I fly upstairs and in the master bath under the sink the hot water valve broke and water had been gushing for HOURS.  There was a 1/2 inch of standing water in our bedroom, the bathroom drawers were full of water, water water EVERYWHERE.  So my neighbor came over, our house is 100 years old and with a boiler system and I have no clue how to shut off the main water, Called DH and he told me.. Water OFF!  So then I called insurance, the SERVICE and guys were here all afternoon and into the evening. Over 1500 gallons of water they sucked up so far!   All the dry wall has to come out of the garage, they have pulled up our carpet in the BR and are trying to dry it, all of our BR furniture is in the family room, they will have to rip out all the tile and the vanity in the master bedroom... And that is all I know so far... So if you all are really watching out there, get some more popcorn and a drink, because I think we have a full season ahead of us!!!  Anyone want to sign up for commercials???

Thankyou DK, I needed some excitement in my life:)

I am so very sorry to hear of your troubles. It may seem like you'll never get through it but you will. Please make sure to get a lever type whole house water shut off valve. It's vital for situations like this. The good news, and you really need some is that your family and dogs are OK.
Yep we have that, we have only lived here a year, I just didn't know where it was:) I am very happy that we are all fine and didn't lose anything precious!!!
What a way to get a home remodeled! Actually this type of thing happened to my niece - pipe in the wall broke and ruined the drywall about a third of the way up the wall in a bedroom, bathrooms, hall and kitchen walls. The carpet through the entire house was soaked. They took advantage of the situation and ended up with new walls, flooring and paint throughout, as well as new pipes!
Yep hoping for the master bath... when we moved in a year ago we did major remodel...so hopefully there will be no re'do's but only time will tell.
OMG.... WTD.... and any other initials I can throw out there!!! Okay, here's what I think....YOU are ONE STABLE person! I am so sorry that all of this has happened to you this MONTH! We are all here for you ... LET IT ALL OUT!!!! When this is all over, you really need to treat yourself to something special!
Yeah, it's called a Master Bedroom SPA:) Complete with walk in doggie shower, all the groomer girls will be jealous ha ha! I am just rollin' with it!! WTD else do you DO??
OMG... So sorry to hear about the flood.... :-(
Oh Suzann what a time you have had. I can relate since I have had similar things going on around here. I think there is something contagious going on...someone said things come in threes so I am counting! Mine started with the fox tails in Gracie's paw and two surgeries in a week. Then one night as I am walking down the hall to go to bed I feel water on my head. I look up and water is coming out of the ceiling and the overhead light fixture. Our new A/C has a problem and water is leaking out...but they can't find the leak and it is dry around the unit which is in the attic??? WTD? Then two weeks ago we are having some higher than usual winds in the afternoon. We live at the top of a peninsula and have a 200 year old California Live Oak (wonder why LIVE if it isn't dead??) tree that our house was built under 60 years ago. I hear some banging around on the roof. I take Gracie outside for a walk and as we go down the driveway and look up a huge limb that is the length of our property comes crackling and crashing down covering up my entire front yard, sidewalk and out into the street. It just missed the car parked in front. Gracie and I just stood there frozen while it came crashing down. Okay, so that is three bad luck things and now I have ANTS in the bathroom!!! I have a service that sprays every month and they were here yesterday. Still have ants. Tree men came today and $3000 later the tree has been lightened up. A/C man came back for the 5th time and thinks he has the problem solved. Gracie's paw has healed and the next adventure is when the crew comes up to repair my hall ceiling. That should be a real mess!

So, what was wrong with little Bandy Boo that he was whining and crying and wouldn't stop shaking? The other stuff doesn't' matter...what was wrong with Bandit???

I think you and I both have had enough excitement to last a few years. Every day I wonder what will be next???!!! Hope your house dries out and things are back to normal soon.
Hi Nancie, what do they say life is an adventure??? Sorry to hear about your trees. We just had a huge tree removed hanging over our house because everytime the wind blew I thought it would bring the house down. Little did I know it was an $8 plumbing valve that would do that trick:)

So I don't know what's going on with B.... something though. I just signed up for Pet Ins. on Monday so I really want to wait to take him in until the "waiting period" is over so he is covered.... Of course if I see anything really crazy I will take him. He just has lot's of energy and then absolutely zero, none, dead in his tracks... Maybe he want nurse gracie doodle to come take care of him...but tell her to wait until we have that walk in doggie shower!!

I hope GD paw is finally on the mend, just think the holidays are right around the corner so nothing normal soon! DK's to you and GracieDoodle!
I'm so sorry that all this has happened all at once! I know people say to look on the bright side and count your blessings, but honestly, that STINKS! Vent all you want here, sometimes it helps to let it all out! I Thank goodness that Rosey and Bandit were okay and I hope this is the last "adventure" you go through for a long time!
I am so GLAD that everyone is okay at your house. I had visions of the puppies treading water waiting for you to get home and save them!!! I was going to remind you of the old adage about trouble arriving in groups of three in an effort to make the point that you should have smooth sailing ahead (not in the bedroom). But I see that Nancie is blowing that theory "out of the water" shall we say???

You are one strong lady-I would be literally pulling my hair out by now with what you have endured lately!! But I know it helps to have 2 awesome little doods at your side. They tend to make all things better. :)

And yes, please tell us "the rest of the story" about Bandy Baby!! Tara is having fits here worrying about him-or have you even had a chance to figure that one out yet??
I'm so sorry these things are happening to you...you are too nice a person to have all this bad stuff going on, and Bandit is too sweet a puppy to not be feeling well. I think it might be time to draw in and focus on the ones you love and let everybody else take care of themselves for a little while.
Hugs to you & your crew from me & JD.
