Anyone have any experience with this disease?  Oliver was diagnosed on January 2nd = put on numerous meds and his red blood count was .5 away from normal but since the beginning of April it has been going down instead of up.  I am taking him to the clinic at Michigan State University for a bone marrow aspiration - none of the various blood test that have been run show why this is happening.  They have ruled out anything parasitic.  He is only 10 months old and just by looking at him you would never know that he is sick.  He tires easily but does play and likes to take walks (just not too long) and is so good with my 4 year old niece and 1 1/2 yr old granddaughter.  He doesn't act like the puppy he still is.

Would love to hear from anyone who has anything to tell me about this disease......

I'm sorry I don't know anything helpful but I think you need to make a list of questions for the vets at Michigan State. They may have some more information after the marrow aspirate. I hope Oliver does well.

Have a list of questions -- plus our vet has been in contact with a vet at MSU since the beginning.  This culminates --- the drugs aren't doing enough any more.

Thanks for thinking of us.....

Oliver is such a gorgeous guy. I'm so sorry he is sick. Our first doodle never acted like a puppy. He has always been so calm. Your photos with your granddaughter and niece show what a love boy Oliver is. Please keep us posted.

Thanks!   One of the problems is that he doesn't look sick --- if I mention it, people looks at me like I'm crazy!  No physical signs right now...........

Will definetly post when we get back from East Lansing.

I am so sorry.  Hopefully others on dk can share information with you. Just know that we all lend our support emotionally even if we can't help with knowledge.  Please keep us posted.
Thanks.........will keep everyone posted!
Saying prayers and crossing fingers, toes and paws that they can get to the root of this quickly!!!
Thanks......
Betty - I have nothing to add as I know nothing about this illness but I will tell you living in Michigan my whole life up til a couple of years ago - there just is NO BETTER place for Oliver to get treatment than at Michigan State.  Both my dad's dog and my daughter's have had treatments or surgery there, driving 6 hours round trip to make it happen.  I hope that you find the answers that you need, please let us know how this goes.
I've been there twice before with a beloved dog -- I do know how great it is!!!  It is over an 8 hr. round trip for us but well worth it!!   Will keep everyone updated!  Thanks for responding!!

Betty sorry to hear that Oliver is having some issues. I am praying that the great Docs at Michigan State can come up with an answer and I have a good feeling they will.

Just a thought for peace of mind, Daisy stopped acting like a puppy at around 6 months.

Keeping happy thoughts for you we will all be anxiously awaiting any news.

Thanks.......
