Okay, don't think I'm terrible... but I know Rusty's coat (golden colored f1 goldendoodle) is going to be different than Lucy's coat (black f1 goldendoodle). Although it won't make a bit of difference in how much I love Rusty or how stinkin' smart he is.. but I'm curious if anyone with experience knows how to tell if he's going to have a coat like a golden retriever rather than what I a "typical" doodle will have.. and yes I feel a bit guilty for making a deal out of this.. but.. I just want to know.. Rusty is 4 months old... here are he and Lucy playing... Rusty's back half is kinda fluffy but his front half lays flat... he's finally getting that scruffy look to his cute little face...
Kinda looks like my lF1 abradoodle's coat which is wavy in places, straight in others and sooo easy to care for. Dirt just falls off, no matting and you just brush and go! Hope yours is the same!
I have two doodles that are half brothers. You can see their photos on my site. Both are Australian labradoodles with the same mom. Their coats are SO different! It took Joe until he was a year old to "fluff" up. I really could not tell what he was going to be like by just going on his puppy looks. .
