Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I know most of you know about Pink and October being National Breast Cancer month. But before we get there, September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness month. Childhood Cancer's support color is gold (yellow). This cause is very near and dear to my heart as my daughter was diagnosed at age 5 with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. After 2 1/2 years of chemotherapy she is a survivor. She's been off therapy for a year and a half and is doing great. If you can, please where gold or yellow one time during September (or have your doodle!) in honor of all of the Survivors and Warriors of Pediatric Cancer. It is the number one killer of Children in our country. These kids are such strong and wonderful souls. Here are our doodles and my daughter Grace supporting the cause. I love my doodles but I am so very proud and inspired by my daughter. She is my hero. :) GO GOLD!

What a wonderful image of your precious daughter and doodles! We'd be proud to wear the Gold!
Grace is beautiful and we'd be happy to wear gold in her honor, as soon as I find some.
Grace you are our Hero! We will proudly wear gold in honor for all of the Survivors and Warriors of Pediatric Cancer.
Ragley always wears green in support of cholangiocarcinoma awareness in honor of my mom, but I think we can certainly add a splash of gold this month! Look at all those happy faces- love it! Go Grace!
I got some neat gold fabric at the crafts store today and will make some scarfs for us tomorrow. I can hardly wait to show them off and explain why we are wearing them.
Jenn,
I've waited all week to share my gold with you. I knew I was going to make this trip several hours north to see this field especially after you told us your story. At the same time you posted this discussion, I was also made aware of, Prayers From Maria; a mile long field full of sunflowers. Gold Sunflowers. Each is a prayer sent from Maria for all the Children with Cancer. Here is her story. http://prayersfrommaria.org/#4
I had no idea about the Gold. Now, I will never forget.
If you felt someone thinking about you early this morning, it was me. I took you with us.
Here are a few of my photos today. . Thanks for making me aware
Love your photo. Love love love!
These are for you!
It just goes on with prayers forever........ So many flowers
Joanne, this post made me cry. In a good way, lol.
Oh how wonderful!
My sister died of glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) many years ago (and in September). I am making my scarfs today for us to wear this month. Beautiful post, Joanne.
